Dr. Lawrence Sangil Kim, MD

After driving 6 hours for my long awaited appointment to see Dr Lawrence Kim, I arrived 12 minutes late. It was my first time being here but I already submitted my paperwork electronically. Parking was not to be found (didn't know about valet service) and I was in mysterious pain so I sure needed to be seen by a specialist. The receptionist asked him if he would see me still and he said no book another appointment. Nobody showed compassion. I feel Dr Lawrence Kim has his priorities in the wrong order. Plus I see other reviews where people waited on him far more than 12 minutes. Needless to say I did not book another appointment because this was definitely a red flag that I had the wrong doctor then I looked at the other reviews and it was confirmed to me why this happened. He has people issues it appears as I finally read.

Dr. Kim isn't vested in assisting patients with finding the best treatment for serious medical conditions. He referred me to the local cancer center and a surgeon here. I don't believe that they have the experience that I need. Twice when I mentioned going to the Mayo Clinic for pancreatic cancer surgery and treatment, he was clearly annoyed! He wants you to go where he tells you to go. He didn't offer to send the Mayo Clinic any information or to discuss anything with them. However, he was more than happy to send the information to his cohorts here. He does not like questions and there were many "i don't knows" when asked about the timeframe for the results. His verbal assessment of the endoscopy was not congruent with the actual written report causing my family a lot of distress. He painted the worst possible scenario to them. When I researched the actual report that will be taken to the Mayo Clinic, it was much more hopeful (and yes, that is where I have chosen to go). He… also interjected a statement about whether my tumor was operable that he did not have the expertise to make. This diagnosis is difficult enough. Dr. Kim made the situation feel absolutely dire.

I've been seeing Dr. Kim for several years and I like him very much.

Rushed, doesn't listen, unfriendly, would never return.

Dana at the front desk was very helpful getting all the paperwork together and working with my health insurer. Paula did a great job with the IV. It usually takes at least three sticks before someone can get an IV in me and Paula did it in only ONE! Bravo. Tracy & Kelly are very friendly and answered all my questions before they assisted Dr. Kim with the colonoscopy. My wife said Ally was kind and understanding during my drug educed haze in the recovery area. And once I was coherent, it was obvious; Ally is a kind and skilled professional. I didnâ??t feel anything during the colonoscopy and slept through the entire procedure. Dr. Kim displayed concern and understanding regarding the polyps found during the procedure. Dr. Kim also took his time explaining the current prognosis and what to expect going forward. Dr. Kim is a credit to his profession and other physicians should strive to achieve his level of competency.

My daughter was misdiagnosed and Dr. Kim put her through a colonoscopy that was not need, I could guess why but after seeing his charges I know. He insulates himself from his billing office(don't waste your time with Bonnie). So its shut up and pay, or we turn it over to collection.

Dr. Kim was impatient and disrespectful at each visit. He was not invested in helping me to understand my condition or finding a solution. It finally came to a point that my condition got worse, so I made several calls in to his office- not one call was returned. Instead, I received a letter from him stating he no longer wished to be my doctor. I felt that he ignored my needs and did not follow up with me so that he could label me as "noncompliant" and have an excuse to terminate our patient-doctor relationship.

Excellent physician. Do not hesitate to use.
