Dr. Lawrence Litman, MD

I met Doc about 4 years ago , I had some problems that needed immediate addressing and making matters a little more unusual was the fact that I was a commercial fisherman with very little free time on land so I needed to meet a Doctor that would work with me to accomplish my goals . I met Doc and I loved him right off the bat , He even made sure to ask me how the fishing and weather had been treating me since we last met . He remembers personal details about patients which helps you to feel like you aren’t just a number and that he cares enough to take an interest in you , I can’t say that about most other Physicians I’ve encountered and I might even say that most are basically seeing you as a 6ft 2 inch $(dollar sign ) . They don’t return calls , they treat you like you’re putting them out almost and Doctor Litman is the polar opposite of that . He’s also got a great sense of humor and easy to talk to . At one point Dr Litman moved from one location in Brookline Massachusetts to… another in Boston, He called me to ask if I’d like to follow him to the new location and I immediately said yes even though it was a longer trip for me and the parking could be difficult especially after a snow storm but I realized that the likelihood of finding another Doctor with His qualities was gonna be extremely unlikely especially with my limited amount of time away from work and I couldn’t risk losing Him . If you’re having trouble with any addiction or anxiety/depression I’d strongly recommend calling Doctor Litman to see if He’s taking on new patients, you’ll be happy with your decision

I saw Dr Litman on and off for several years after an auto accident. The auto accident left me with challenges and impacted my work, and that led a conflict on balancing time at work and time for extensive physical therapy to continue being able to walk. Dr. Litman was very helpful in teaching me cognitive therapies to better cope with conflict and balance life events. He taught me new skills that I will have for life. I am thankful for that. I've read some of the other reviews here, and they seem off base, going into areas beyond therapy. For me. Dr. Litman provided a well balanced cognitive therapy program, and taught me life skills that I will benefit from forever. Thank you Dr. Litman!

I saw Dr. Littman in his secondary capacity as a doctor able to prescribe Suboxone out of New Horizons clinic in Brookline. The staff there are all European and for the most part have bad attitudes. Dr. Littman himself is very easy-going and helpful in the capacity of mental health and substance abuse treatment at his Brookline satellite location. That is in which capacity I saw him and in which capacity I write this review. Unfortunately while on New Horizons Clinic, I battled with another addiction to cocaine. I was waging a war on two fronts and Dr. Littman was very understanding and helpful in that respect. He went to bat for me numerous times when I was being threatened with discharge because of so many "dirty" urine's. He made it clear to the people who run New Horizons that he is there to treat opiate addiction and general mental health, that their establishment has no experience, nor was it developed to deal with cocaine addiction. He gave me useful advice and helpful… medications to try to come off of cocaine. Dr. Littman is very reasonable and open to hearing what you may think is best for you and then he will provide you with his opinion and most of the time meet you halfway. I was discharged from New Horizons and I appreciated what Dr. Littman did for me there so much that I am now beginning to seek his services in his own capacity as a doctor. Please remember that this review is based on his services at New Horizons Clinic in Brookline as a Suboxone prescribing doctor, not on his performance on Newbury St. as an MD.
