Dr. Lawrence Michael Saltis, MD

My doctor sent in a referral to this doctor. I called to schedule an appointment. They won't do it without the referral (my insurance doesn't require one). I called my doctor's office who resent it. I waited almost a week and no call, so I called back to make the appointment. Still no referral. I have a referral from my doctor so I asked if I could fax that. The secretary on the phone was so incredibly rude that I ended up crying. I hung up on her and called my doctor's office back to make an appointment with a different doctor. You don't go to a Neurologist for the "fun of it." I am appalled that someone would be so rude to a potential patient who clearly has a serious issue to require neurological intervention.

I have never had a problem with Dr. Saltis and he has been my Neurological Doctor for 15 yrs+. He is compassionate and caring and his diagnosis was spot on. However, the office staff he has in Hudson was never very professional, but his new office staff on White Pond Drive is courteous and very professional! If you are thinking of seeing Dr. Saltis, I highly recommend him for any Neurological problem you have.

I visited Dr. Saltis who was referred by a physician I respect for my mother in law to see about some vascular concerns. I went with her on her 2nd appointment - he walked in did not even acknowledge I was there ( as a care giver of my MIL). He then diagnosed he with a memory issues (alluded to alzheimers). I later looked at his card and thought why am I seeing this guy for vascular concerns - I took my MIL to the Cleveland Clinic - after getting all of her records sent to a surgeon at the Clinic he read the reports and had a different take on the matter. We did follow up with a neuropsychiatrist that Saltis recommended (against my judgement but appointment was set) she wanted us to go back to Saltis to get results - I said NO WAY either you share results or you give them to me and I will have someone at UH or Cleveland Clinic read them. I would not set foot back in that office - I have her records of the tests Saltis requested and we are done with this doctor. So unfortunate as I like… Unity Point as a system but it has put a bad taste in my mouth. We use all Unity Point doctors from Peds, family medicine and orthopedics now I am rethinking that decision for my family.

Outstanding clinician who takes the time needed.

After seeing Dr Saltis for two years to treat my wife for Alzheimer's we were told she could not see a doctor. We had started medicare and purchased a supplement they did not want to work with. After reporting for a scheduled appointment we were told of their refusal policy. I offered to pay cash and again was refused and told my wife was not to see her doctor. I left with my wife in her wheelchair confused and crying. This is not the way to treat people

I have never been treated so rudely. The reception you get when you walk in for the first time is uncalled for. They reprimand you like a child in front of the other patients waiting and let you know if they had to help everyone with there medication list that they would be there till 8 o'clock at night because I brought my medications in a baggie. That's how most of my Doctors prefer in case I miss a milligram amount or something.Then a different nurse gave me a look and said well we will do it this time but never again! I informed them that we were standing in a Neurologists office so I was pretty sure we were already having a bad enough day. I cancelled my appointment and left and I would never recommend them to anyone I know. I have to wonder how many patients Doctors there lose before they ever get to treat them.

I am very happy with Dr Saltis and his staff. Very friendly and yet very professional. I refer anyone I know .

He is strongly opinionated and very defensive of his patients - which made me feel good because I want doctor that I feel like is on MY side. He is empathetic, kind, and actually remembers details about who you are (other than just another patient) from visit to visit. I'm very comfortable with him, and he's helped my migraines as much as I believe anybody can - which is saying something. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to navigate the office staff. They aren't rude, but they sometimes give the impression that they are preoccupied.

Dr. Saltis and his staff are probably the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I have been at the Hudson NNA office for roughly two years for migraines and my pervious neurologist went to a different practice after two appointments. They put me with Dr. Saltis because they said he was the head of the department. I only saw him my first appointment (which he rushed) since then it has been his practitioner who not only has a serious attitude for some reason but she also refuses to listen to anything I say. And to top it all off they never did any testing for my migraines and when I asked them to the practitioners response was "we don't do that here, it won't tell us anything about the migraines." Which is definitely not true. I plan on finding a new neurologist as soon as possible.
