Dr. Lawrence Anthony Schaeffer, MD

Very disrespectful and told me my 13 years of experience with pain conditions were a lie, I'm a faker, I don't need my wheelchair, and he had a broken leg that healed once so I should be FINE. I paid good money to be disrespected, ignored, and stifled. Had a good, long cry in the parking lot after being treated so unfairly and getting absolutely no help. I hope he is treated the way he treats some of his patients. Trash human.

I came with a dear friend of mine and her husband to her visit. I've worked in the medical field, so I've seen a variety of doctors personalities. I could not have asked for a better, more knowledgeable, caring, thorough physician. He even encouraged a second opinion, which always tells me that a doctor isn't intimidated by hearing what a fellow doctor might have to say, or that he's so arrogant that his word is law. His nurse is also a gem. As a team these two work efficiently and flow wonderfully together. I would recommend him a thousand times over. So glad my friend was referred to him.

Dr Schaeffer was very kind and so was his staff. I didn't feel rushed and he answered all my questions!

Horrible experience.

He is very demeaning and very arrogant. Thinks he is God of neurology.

Dr. S is my husband's neurologist. My husband's endocrinologist referred him to Dr. S, so our wait time for the initial visit was quicker than any I've ever experienced: 1 day. However I do realize this is NOT the norm. Dr. S was extremely thorough with his clinical exam, testing, and his thoughts on what my husband had, which turned out to be MS. It was approximately 3 weeks from the initial visit that all testing (in office and outpatient hospital) was completed and we had our 2nd office visit and confirmed MS diagnosis. At that time Dr. S went over everything, outlined his recommendations for treatment, and welcomed any and all questions we had. Two things really stood out for me that day: First, Dr. S told us he would do the very best he could to take care of my guy. My mother-in-law was with us, and she was visibly upset. Dr. S took her hands in his, looked her in the eye, and said, "I'm going to take care of your son." Second, he told us if something was beyond his… area of expertise, he would happily refer us to the best place in the country for whatever might come up if that was what we all felt was needed. Key word" all". Dr. S respects his patients and their families. He has a "quirky" bedside manner...meaning we feel at home cracking jokes (humor gets us through some rough times) as well as sharing concerns with him and his amazing nurse, Sara. That old adage "Behind every good man is a great woman" certainly applies to Dr. S and nurse Sara. Their office has the option to sign up to use a Patient Portal system online. We can get lab and testing results, check appointments times and Bill balances, check on rx refills, and e-mail any questions/concerns we may have. If we e-mail, we have never waited more than 48 hrs for a reply, usually it's within 24 hrs. Of course I'd rather not be writing this review. I'd rather my husband be healthy and not need to see a neurologist. But since he needs one, we're both so grateful to have been referred to Dr. Schaeffer's office.

Great doctor that knows his stuff. Takes his time and explains thoroughly the problem. Has a great sense of humor. Short wait times,and friendly staff.

He said walking in the door I can tell by the way you walk yo have Ms. After serval test he was right I had MS Every time I have had a problem he had a fix for the problem. Wonderful doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Schaeffer for four years now. He and his staff are the best medical proffessionals I have ever feen affilliated with. He gets right to the task of diagnosing the problem and seeking the best treatment. I have MS and he only had to do bloodwork and an MRI to find it. He will not put one through unnecessary tests. He and "Nurse Sara" are the best!
