Dr. Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, MD

An MSer since 1990, I have been through several neurologists, and FINALLY found one interested in treating it, rather than brushing me aside with unacceptable options, such as cutting my tendons! Dr. Dhakal is a gift from God! I didnt know that there are still options for treatment that can make a positive difference still.

Dr. Dhakal treated my husband for a rare illness that was hard to diagnose. We saw him every day while my husband was in hospital for over 2 weeks...we appreciated his determination, willingness to answer our questions, his honesty, his encouragement. He celebrated the wins with us and he didn't give up. This is a great doctor.

Dr Dhakal was very RUDE and INSENSITIVE to my sister and a very upsetting to my family. She did not want a feeding tube and that we respected her wishes. Dr Dhakal walked into the room and loudly and like a drill Sargent yelled my sister's name. She jerked and her eyes flew open with a startled state. I had been without sleep for 48 hours traveling to be by her side. I yelled at him that he scared her and comforted my sister letting her know I was there and grabbed her hand. He was insensitive to us standing by her wish to not have a feeding tube. He said well we might as well not continue to treat her and just go on comfort care. He was surrounded by his group of new doctors following him around. I tried to say we want to treat her, but we do not want a feeding tube. He cut me off and barked for the nurse to call my sister's daughter. Her daughter then again tells him we DO NOT want a feeding tube. He more or less just rudely writes her off as another one to pass on. My sister… Jill passed away 11.11.2018 at 9:30 PM. In my opinion he is a very arrogant rude insensitive person with a medical degree. Just because you have a medical degree does not mean you deserve respect. Respect is earned! Dr Dhakal one of these days it might be your sister or mother in that bed. I hope you learn to have some compassion and tenderness for the pain others are going through. Don't fall off your pedestal you might break your face or someone just might knock you off that pedestal! Jill's sister Onie.
