Dr. Lee M. Buono, MD

A Ct scan found an incidental brain tumor and I was admitted to the hospital. An MRI was ordered and preformed which showed the tumor slightly bigger than the CT scan. This doctor never bothered to show up for rounds to see me. Told the attending physician that I was low priority. funny, the surgeon at Jefferson doesn't think my brain tumor is low priority. This doctor kept me in the hospital and away from making good decisions with all the tools and answers a day earlier. maybe I could have gotten into Jefferson a few days earlier if this man didn't waste my time and just did his rounds and saw me. He told the nursing staff to stop texting him about seeing me. Just what a patient wants to hear.

Dr. Buono recommended a laminectomy, he stated to me surgery will take 20 minutes, go home & no pain. Next day after surgery, I had pins & needles in my foot. By the end of the week the pain came back in my leg worse than ever. Four weeks had gone by, I could not stand or walk, pain was so bad. By this time I'm out of work a whole month. Two days, I called him never returned my phone call. Made an appointment with another doctor, where I had another operation, then got better. Also, to this day I have nerve pain in the foot that had the pins & needles.

This guy is arrogant and dismissive. He was very quick to diagnose me without having my medical background and quick to write a prescription for something I DO NOT have. I am so glad I did not start taking an unnecessary medication. Maybe had he listened to me! He is what is wrong with today’s medicine. If you need help and are in pain, don’t waste your time with this guy. I wasted 2 weeks waiting for this appointment. What a disappointment.

My wife recently went to see Dr. Buono. The Dr. Told my wife that she was not a candidate for surgery because let's face it u are a big girl and I am not willing to work that hard. Dr. Buono should have his license taken away.

Dr. Buono was wonderful from start to finish. Very thorough in explaining what my MRI said and had me be a part of the diagnosis after he educated me on what I was seeing in the images. He was extremely caring and spent a good amount of time with me listening to all my issues and explaining the protocal he recommended. The surgery went very quickly & smoothly and my nerve pain was completely gone following. Just some incision pain which is normal. The staff was also extremely helpful, thorough and nice to deal with. Overall a fantastic experience. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Buono.

I don't know where to begin... in addition to being a skilled neurosurgeon, Dr. Buono is one of the most kind, caring & compassionate doctors I've ever met! We first met him during a 2nd opinion appointment for my daughter-in-law who had already undergone 2 previous surgeries in the past year by an area orthopedic to address a severely herniated disc at the L5/S1 level in her spine. She was in excruciating pain and completely disabled. We were so impressed by Dr. Buono during the appointment that we scheduled the surgery with him. He went to bat for my daughter-in-law with her insurance company and ensured that her surgery went through without a hitch. The day of the surgery him and his entire surgical team couldn’t have been kinder or more caring to my daughter-in-law who was extremely nervous. The care she received was outstanding. The surgery itself took less than 20 minutes which was amazing in comparison to her previous 2 surgeries which took 2 & 3 hours respectively. He came out… and talked to me after surgery and was so reassuring. I was amazed to see how well my daughter-in-law was doing after surgery. Her surgery pain was well-managed. The excruciating pain she experienced before surgery was gone thank God! Dr. Buono and his entire team was truly an answer to prayer! Thank you!!!
