Dr. Lee Nathaniel Metchick, MD

From the first day, I met Dr. Lee he pushed surgery. He never gave me the correct alternatives before surgery last appointment. He gave me an ultimatum rather I have surgery or don’t come back. This type of doctor is only for it for the money. only comes in if he hears me stating I don’t want surgery, I will not recommend this doctor for your thyroid. He’s actually leaving the office. The Nurse practitioner there are his salesman.

HORRIBLE DOCTOR! This is the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. He has a terrible bedside manner. Not many people make me uncomfortable, but this doctor did. All he did was push a medication that has horribly side effects. He was rude and extremely aggressive. He sent me for bloodwork, which was not covered by Quest (because of improper coding) and I was stuck with the bill. He then canceled my appointment and I was told he couldn’t get me in for another 3 months. 10 months later, and they still say they’re working on my bill.

Dr. Metchick listened to my story about the pain in my hip area and what had been done to try to relieve that pain. I felt confidence by the way he listened to me and asked good questions. I will have another session with Dr. Metchick within the next two weeks.

The appointment scheduling procedure for this doctor is horrific. You will be lucky to be seen in months. I was told that a 2 month wait was considered a good turn around for this office. You are required to run the gauntlet before you are given the privilege of an making an appointment. All of your new patient information, referral and medical records, and copies of your insurance must be given up front before they will schedule for an appointment. If something they require is missing, you go into limbo status until you call and inquire about the possibility of an appointment. Only then you are informed about what is holding up the appointment scheduling. Once you have complied with all of the requirements, only then will you have the opportunity to see a medical provider (usually the practitioner) and give this provider your business. Sadly, Endocrinology of Central Florida scheduling department is not customer friendly.

DR.METCHICK HIS APPROACH ON TREATING PTS. IS BEYOND AMAZING. HE TAKES EACH INDIVIDUAL CASE AND MAKE A PLAN THAT FITS THE PTS NEEDS AND HE ALSO MAKES SURE U UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING. HE IS NEVER IN A RUSH HE IS VERY CARING.I HAD TO DO ANOTHER BIOPSY AND HE DID IT WITH NO PAIN MEDS AND NUMBNESS HE WAS DONE AND I DIDNT EVEN NOTICED. I WAS SO SCARED BECAUSE OF MY PREVIOUS BIOPSY WAS A NIGHTMARE. HE NEVER HURT ME HIS STAFF IS JUST AS CARING AS HE IS .THEY ARE AN AMAZING TEAM AND IM GRATEFUL HE IS ON MY SIDE THRU THIS JOURNEY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE IN NEED OF A ENDOCRINOLOGIST.I AM PLEASED I FOUND HIM I DRIVE OVER AN HOUR TO SEE THIS AMAZING DR. THANK U 2 HIM AND HIS STAFF I CAN NOT WORRY AS MUCH CAUSE THEY ARE SO POSITIVE AND UPLIFTING PPL. BLESSED TO BE WITH THIS AMAZING DR.. Have been a patient of Dr Metchick for many years..love him and have referred others. I have scheduled appts only with him . Only issue ever is if you need to cancel an appt your next one with him may be 6 months away. Otherwise no problems I have encountered.

Dr. Metchick did not even say hello to me when he first popped into the room and instead barked something about another patient to the other staff member. He quickly left again and then came back in, still talking about the other patient including information about the patient's medical condition (HIPAA violation). He finally looked at me, said hello, and then performed my biopsy. He continued to talk about the other patient while performing my biopsy. He sounded frustrated with how the patient was not accepting of his assessment or recommendation. Unfortunately I am still going to have to come back to Dr. Metchick for my biopsy results, but if there is no sign of improvement in his patient care, I definitely plan to go elsewhere for a second opinion and/or follow up appointments. I was feeling tired, not wanting to do much, my weight was creeping up on me and I was fighting diabetes for years. My primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Lee Metchick, who is an endocrinologist, after my A1C results came back at a high 14. Dr. Metchick’s office scheduled me with various appointments with his nurse practitioner, who specializes in diabetes, and his nutritionist. Tresiba was added to my daily routine. I heeded the advice of the nutritionist, who taught me a lot more than I had ever known about how and what to eat or not eat and how to look at restaurant menus and make the right choices. Dr. Metchick’s staff has been awesome in helping me, even before I saw the doctor. After several appointments with the medical staff, my first visit with the doctor revealed that my A1C came down to a great 6.7. I had lost five pounds even though I was now taking insulin, which can cause a weight gain. Now Dr. Metchick is slowly adding Metformin to my medication in an effort… to eliminate the insulin to make weight loss easier. Several years ago, I had tried Metformin and did not tolerate it well, most likely because of the way I was instructed to use it so long ago. So far with Dr. Metchick’s instructions, I am tolerating it and hope to be off of the insulin soon and lose more weight. I truly appreciate all of the medical professionals, in all three offices, who helped me before seeing Dr. Metchick. Dr. Metchick is very easy to understand and truly cares about his patients and so does his staff. I feel so much better now. Diabetes can make one feel old, but one should not feel old due to diabetes.

THIS DOCTOR WILL NOT SEE YOU IF YOU INSIST ON SEEING HIM INSTEAD OF HIS PA. I DO NOT KNOW WHY HE EVER BECAME A DOCTOR IF HE ONLY WANTS TO REFER ALL PATIENTS TO HIS P.A. PHOOEY ON HIM. HE IS THE FIRST DOCTOR IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WHO HAS THIS ATTITUDE AND I AM OLD AND HAVE SEEN MANY DOCTORS IN MANY STATES YE GODS THIS IS SO NEW TO ME I CANNOT BELIEVE IT HE HAS PUT ME ON HIS DO NOT SEE LIST AND I SUGGEST THAT ALL OF YOU PUT HIM ON YOUR DO NOT SEE LIST.
