Dr. Lee John Skandalakis, MD

Dr. Skandalakis, is a caring and Professional man who about ten years ago did a reverse Colostomy on me & also repaired a incisional Hernia & I have never been more grateful to any Doctor. I went to a Dr. in the Smyrna area & wound up with a Colostomy because of a misdiagnosis as I have Erythrophobia severe with somatic & conversion disorders so Dr.'s do make mistakes with me & Dr. Skandalakis saw how upset & nervous I am & had me wait one year for the reversal so my colon would heal. God sent me this Angel at the time in my life I was about to give up. May Almighty Gods hands keep Blessing this Doctor and the Patients he treats. Jenny Galloway.

Dr. Skandalakis was consistently late to office visits, longest was about an hour. On my last follow up visit, on the same day, I get a call from the office at 9pm to tell me that Dr. Skandalakis has tested positive for Covid. That means he knowingly treated patients while sick. I had to quarantine for 2 weeks because of him, without pay from work might I add. The final straw was, the office staff would say, if you have any complications, come on into the office. I had 2 follow up visits that I was not charged for, but the 3rd I was, yet the office never talks about the cost until after they have sent you the bill. I find this very deceptive. Also, beware of the mysterious $1,000 charge they give you that they say they know won't be covered by insurance, before they even run you insurance plan.

On my initial visit to DR. Skandalakis he confirmed that I had an umbilical hernia. He said it was small and I also had a CT scan with contrast of my abdomen to confirm, My wife and I discussed a NO MESH procedure with DR. Skandalakis and he agreed. We were adamant about NOT using mesh.That being said, I scheduled a no mesh hernia repair, however, he ended up using mesh without my consent. He never called my wife who was in the waiting room, NOTHING. We are very stressed out about this. I would have never agreed to a mesh procedure.

Unprofessional, rude and unapologetic, won't even show up to apologize for the patient

My experience with Dr. Skandalakis was nothing short of excellent. My problem was diagnosed and repaired within 10 days time and I was back on my feet. The support staff was also first rate. I highly recommend this practice.
