Dr. Lendicita Q Madden, MD

Dr. Madden is a good GP who really listens to you, but I've had some issues. She will sometimes write the wrong dose or quantity on the Rx form, or forgets that I requested a particular vaccine, or the office somehow doesn't have the vaccine in stock. I saw her out of DC's Providence Hospital. I had a negative experience last year where I had to repeatedly visit the office (and keep paying a co-pay) for repeated tests for something that ended up being a false positive. She then sent me to a specialist at the wrong office. After being ushered out after waiting for hours, the specialist told me over the phone that the tests Dr. Madden recommended weren't necessary and there was nothing wrong with me, which they could tell by looking at her paperwork. The office also continuously bungled paperwork and seemed to label every one of my visits to Dr. Madden an "annual physical", so every visit had to be followed by a phone call to my insurance company. This is not a mark against Dr.… Madden per-se, but a heads up if you are seeing her out of her Providence Hospital office.

Doctor Madden's DC office staff are poorly trained to provide any assistance/follow-up, and to answer basic questions for her patients. I visited her office twice, the first time the wait was short however Dr. Madden kept asking the same questions, didn't pay attention to my responses, and spoke over me. The second time, I waited 2.5 hours before seeing Dr. Madden, again she kept asking the same questions, didn't pay attention to my responses, and spoke over me. I reached out to her office staff for lab results on several occasions and was frustratingly turned away. The silver spring staff was very helpful, but the DC office is in shambles. Also, Dr. Madden's office does not have an email address. The office seems to be stuck in the 1970's. I would not recommend her for anything requiring immediate attention.

Dr. Madden is very good!! It's just the "wait time" to see her is not good. There needs to be a balance of setting-up appts. for patients each day. One hour for waiting is unacceptable, but I'm always prepared to wait with my own reading materials, etc...and I make sure I don't make any other plans but to see her, when I schedule an appt. with her. Nothing else... She's a very good Doctor though. :-)

I showed up on time for a 9:45 appointment and didn't get seen until 11:30 because she was double booked as explained by her pleasant staff. I let that slide. Then, when I was finally seen she didn't perform the check up I came in for, but she did look at a rash that I had. Then she proceeded to google some half-hearted diagnosis to convince me that I had something I had no symptoms of. Finally she pushed me out of the exam room, with 2 prescriptions for something I didn't have, one of which cost $500 and was not covered by my insurance. If she had simply come out and said, "I'm not sure what this is, I'll refer you to a dermatologist that accepts your insurance," rather than just throwing meds at me for something I clearly didn't have, I would be willing to go back to her. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda.
