Dr. Leo Martin Keegan JR., MD

This is hands down the best surgeon I have ever met. He reconstructed my Breasts after a bileteral mastectomy at the age of 32 and did an absolutely phenomenal job. Aside from that he is such a gentleman. The nicest and most humble Doctor I have met. If there was an option to add more stars he would have gotten all. Thank you for changing my life and gaining back my confidence.

You have to let a victim of a doctor tell what happened. Or what are you for... Sue me, I can repeat the same in court. He destroyed my face and my breathing when I was a college student (at Harvard University). For nearly 25 years, I can't breathe. I never feel well. I was a very innocent young woman. I had an "ethnic"-looking nose, a nose not fitting with Western standards- convex with a robust bony bridge. I was enduring emotional abuse following assault, by the second male ever to touch me in my life, at my university. His friends were targeting me, saying ugly things to me or in my earshot. In this state of mind, I cemented the idea to alter myself. And this "wise elder" who guts healthy girls for a living, did not probe my why, did not say: You don't need narrowing of the organ through with you breathe, you don't need collapsed nasal valves from my sucking all the cartilage out of your nose, you don't need scar tissue, you don't need chronic inflammation FOR THE REST OF YOUR… LIFE, YOU DO NOT DESERVE VIOLENCE AND A LIFE OF NO AIR FOR THE DEHUMANIZING GAZE ON YOU. No, he said he could remove the "boulders" on the sides of my nose. I went in for the surgery crying, and he went ahead. The surgery/gutting happened in his office. He was incompetent on so many levels. I developed a terrible throat infection as I recovered from the nose job; so, he couldn't even prevent that, had exposed me to germs during the surgery. I deserve justice. He should know what he did. But he Can't know, because I am not like him. I was above him, I relished being present in my body and memory- I was a dancer; and I am a writer, my memory is deep, and my childhood is sacred, and when you diminish someone's body, you risk dampening their access to whenever they were happy in life, because you throw them into such an opposed daily reality, and because the body houses the mind, is the conduit to all. Breathing is essential... Sense of smell is essential to one's tie to memory. He put that at risk too. He knows- as my mother called his office- that I Might be able to have improvement in breathing (or not...... as he put me in the line of infinite risk, suffering on suffering) through a surgery that costs about $30,000. He does not help, though HE DID THIS TO ME. He is a coward, constantly deleting my reviews, the truth, the truth of what he did to me.

Dr. Keegan is a truly caring doctor with excellent skills. He took a growth off my face. It was nothing serious but I was very worried about scaring. He took a lot of time to discuss realistically the options for removal and I felt very prepared to make a decision on how to proceed. There is no scar (not that he could guarantee that) and I am thrilled by the way we arrived at the decision as well as treatment and results. Next stop...eye surgery. Also, his staff is lovely and the office has a wonderful calming atmosphere.

I went to Dr. Keegan for a breast augmentation and expressed a lot of concern about wanting to have a visible augmentation but not wanting it to look “unnatural”. I was also concerned about my wider hips and how the breasts would match up. He heard all my concerns and truly gave me better than I even imagined!!! My breasts are beautiful, very natural looking and I am obsessed! I would highly recommend Dr. Keegan to anyone!!

Three years ago I came to NYC, from rural upstate NY (three hours north of Albany) with a diagnosis of breast cancer. After meeting with a breast surgeon, who confirmed that I needed a mastectomy, I had to decide on reconstruction. Fortunately I was referred to Dr. Keegan. I opted for DIEP reconstruction and my results are exceptional. Dr. Keegan was at my side through one of the most difficult and terrifying times of my life. Words cannot adequately express just how much I appreciate this kind man, and his commitment to my care.

Dr. Leo Keegan Jr. is a very good plastic sergeon. I have used him for many procedures and have been extremely happy with both the results, and his attention to my personal needs. I have recommended him to many people who have used him and have also been very happy. His office is very soothing and his staff is very nice and professional. He also uses an unbelievable anesthesiologist. I highly recommend him and would use him again.

It's hard to believe that both an incredibly skilled surgeon, and an empathic and kind doctor all exist within the same individual. I recently underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction and Dr. Keegan far exceeded my expectations in every possible way. He made sure that I fully understood all of my options, he listened to me carefully and fully answered my questions, he reassured me, and he made important observations and guided the whole process from beginning to completion. He is a doctor and a person that goes out of his way to be there for his patients. I feel very fortunate that I was referred to Dr. Keegan and would not hesitate to refer him to anyone, and would insist that my closest friends and family go to him. Additionally, his office is run with incredibly efficiency and he staffs his office with competent and caring people.

He is brilliant and caring / has made me feel positive throughout my breast cancer journey.
