Dr. Leo Joseph Maguire III, MD

While obviously knowledgeable, Dr. Maguire is one of the rudest doctors I've ever encountered. He was impatient and condescending. You would hope a doctor at the Mayo Clinic would have better bedside manners - or just manners at all.

Dr. Maguire saved my eyesight by grafting tissue from my hip to cover a necrotizing divot in my sclera, a less known procedure.

He did my LASIK procedure and was very good. He's also worked with my father for his glaucoma and my Dad's been very pleased with his service also.

Spent all the time I needed answering all my questions. Very knowledgeable and made sure I understood everything.

Seems like his main interest is how he is going to get paid not my care. Recommend another doctor!

A genius. Figured out what many others missed.

Dr. Maguire literally changed my life by performing two corneal transplants and restored my vision in both eyes correcting my Fuchs Syndrome and problematic LASIK surgeries I had elsewhere 13 years ago. He is an exceptionally talented surgeon who is caring, professional, and treats patients as he would want to be treated. I'm most grateful to him and his staff.

I had Salzmann's surgery done by Dr. Maguire at Mayo in 2009. I just saw low Vitals patient reviews and had to add comments about my excellent experience with Dr. Maguire and his staff. Everyone was exceptionally professional and attentive at office visits and at surgery department. It could not have been a smoother more positive experience. Dr. Maguire explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions (and I ask a lot from my condition investigations!) kindly and without rush. I did wait a bit before and during different steps of the visit but that is no problem for me as that tells me others are getting the same attention I am. Going to the doctor is not assembly line work. The surgery went well and I had a very positive outcome from this very experienced (with Salzmann's surgery) ophthalmologist. He and his staff made me comfortable physically and mentally throughout the surgery and visits. Thank you Dr. Maguire and staff. You were terrific!
