I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Otake for an evaluation of a 2nd degree face burn on my forehead and ear. He explained what type of 2nd degree burn it was and the healing process. I especially appreciate that he used examples/analogies to help describe the status of my skin so that I had a better understanding. He picked up on my worry and confusion and took the time to carefully explain everything and to answer all of my questions. He was personable, empathetic, knowledgeable and patient. I had seen two doctors prior to him (at an ER and burn center) and one afterwards (at a burn center) and he was the best one. I am really glad I found him. I plan to return.

I contacted this office for a displaced implant secondary to breast ca. Dr Otake was a past dr. The office here is poorly run. Calls not returned, promises to call back never kept. Follow through with ins is nonexistent. I now have wasted a month in pain on this office. Will never recommend this office based solely on staff not Dr.

We met Dr. Otake trough the ER where he took care of our daughter who needed several stitches. He was patient, kind and did an excellent job. We went to see him for a follow up at his office and his great personality and experience made it as easy as possible on our 5 year old. Excellent doctor

His care and compassion for my case has been overwhelming. Dr Otake has gone above and beyond making himself available to assist me during a double mastectomy and followup DIEP flap reconstruction. His office is professional and courteous. He has an exceptional bedside manner and genuine care for his patients. I could not be happier.

We rushed our son to the Stamford Pediatric ER to fix a head laceration. We saw Dr. Otake, not by request, but because that's who they sent in. He was nice to our child, I can't tell you how the wound healed because it's under his hair. But he is billing us $1000 more than our insurance is willing to pay (they call this balance billing). In an emergency situation we didn't think to ask if he was in network. I understand paying his rate if you select his office, but we walked into an emergency room. His office was absolutely unwilling to work with us on adjusting the cost or accepting what our insurance company had paid ($500 for a simple, 2 stitch repair, that took about 10 minutes). I found it incredibly frustrating to deal with them - absolutely no sympathy, empathy or flexibility.
