Dr. Leo Sotiriou, MD

I have been going to Dr. Sotiriou for over 20 years. During an early appointment, Dr. Sotiriou spotted a very, very small (white thing) on my back. He said to me, "Since we are sending some other tissue to the lab, I want to send this - I don't want to chance it being something that we should treat." Sure enough, results came back positive and to make a long story short, I had melanoma down my back and cancer had spread to 5 lumps nodes. Had major surgery and happy to report, cancer free for many years. The point is that Dr. Sotiriou called upon his many years of experience to decide to have that "small white thing" sent to the lab. My oncologist told me if that hadn't been diagnosed as early as it was, the likelihood of the cancer spreading quickly was very high. Obviously, I am thankful to Dr. Sotiriou and his experience that led me to be cancer-free!

Dr. Sotiriou saw me promptly, diagnosed my problem, and provided treatment, all with efficiency and skill.

I went to see Dr Sotiriou to remove 2 basil cell sores one on my for head and one on my upper right leg about 5 inches above the knee. I had already been to Medallus medical to have them removed, when the result of the biopsy came back it showed more needed to be remove and the Physician there recommend to see a Dermatologist specialist to finish the job. Dr Sotiriou wanted to remove only the one on my forhead and to make another appointment to remove the one on my leg, but Why not take the 10 minuets to cut and sew up my leg sow I asked him if he could fit the time in to do both like the other Dr. did he acted put out or maybe he would not make the extra money for the extra Dr. visit I don't know but he did do both. Days latter I went work on an other Doctors house (a retired Cancer surgeon ) when he saw my stiches he asked me about them, took a close look at them and said it was horribly done that Leo should have cut horizontally not virtually on my forehead to minimize the… scaring. and also said he should be reported for malpractice . also dealing with my leg, the day I got home and went to change the bandage I saw that the stitches were not holding shut the 2 inch long cut , in the center 3/4s long was open and about 3/8s wide seeing my meat had to go to Medallus Medical to restich it closed he had 3 stiched way to loose they were removed and 5 more in there place. There's more when I went to get dressed Leo Sotiriou purposely smashed my nice shoes under the toe kick where he was working instead of nicely pushing them aside.

I saw horrible reviews online and did not want to believe them. The staff, especially Susie, are great! The doctor, however, was awful. He was rushed and did not listen to me at all. Only when he came back into my room after my two minute exam, was I able to ask him more questions. He was short and snippy with me. He snipped a lot off while taking a skin tag off me. He does not seem like a bad man, but seems a bit burnt out and not caring. He was just rushed and seemed annoyed the entire time.

I came in inquiring about a specific procedure and he was very rude about not wanting to do it when after hours staff confirmed he would do it. He almost made it seem like he was kicking me out as he refused to do the procedure. He didn't even greet me when he saw me out give me a friendly goodbye.

I was able to schedule an appt. right away which should have been my first clue. It was for 2:00 but when I called to clarify directions there was a voice message saying they would be out of the office until 2:10?? I waited outside the office on the floor since there was no lobby and the office and all the restrooms on the floor were locked. Then the front desk person came and was very friendly but my husband noticed they use typewriters instead of computers. Not wanting to judge a book by its cover I paid my copy then went back with the Dr. He was very abrupt and told me to hop up on the table which bent and creaked when I climbed up (I'm only 160 lbs)I told him about my wart then he used this metal tool and scrapped it right over the baby carrier he had just kicked with my 2 mo. old inside. He then threw the tool on the table as I watched shavings fall to the floor and all over the counter. He told me they don't cut out warts anymore but that he was going to inject it with a… localized medicine they use to treat cancer after he freezes it so I won't feel anything then left to grab the tools. Before I could tell my husband I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave. He was back and freezing my foot. When I winced in pain at the injections he was like "They hurt, you're fine" then told me they would blister and to come back if they don't go away. I asked about the other warts around it and he said "oh I didn't even look at your foot" before treating them too. Then he put a bandage only on the big one and walked out of the room. I found my own bandages for the rest and was furious I couldn't ask any questions like whether or not it was safe to breastfeed my son. He was unprofessional, unsanitary, abrupt and rude.
