Dr. Leon Nicholas Costa, MD

Actually told me to be quiet so he could talk with his assistant/secretary, like my comments and concerns were not important. Told me I needed surgery on a hip, but that I was way overweight. He said he was not interested in my reasons or excuses, but that I would have to deal with any weight issues on my own. The terrible diagnosis was not his fault, the attitude and the way he spoke to me were!

Dr. Costa was EXTREMELY pleasant. Never having seen this doc before, I was expecting some "warming up" period (getting to know you phase), but nope...he was warm and friendly right from the start. I noticed that he not only shook my hand but the hand of my daughter also. The examination was INCREDIBLY thorough. He gave me three treatment options from which to choose, which I thought was nice. The way he spoke to me was very professional, caring, and thorough. Jenny, the RN at his practice, had the biggest smile I have ever seen. Very friendly lady. I wrote this review because I have very high standards of how I like (and quite frankly, deserve!) to be treated. Dr. Costa exceeded my hopes. Can't wait to see him again (geez, who ever says THAT about going to see a dr?!!!!)

Dr. Costa (and staff) is by far amongst the best in his field locally, let alone in the medical field. Patient care is beyond reproach, bedside manner is stellar, and treatment recommendations are an excellent balance of conservative yet aggressive. He takes into consideration the entirety of the patient when recommending treatment, making sure it is the most appropriate approach for the individual. I'm picky when it comes to physicians, especially for family; I've never been more pleased! The loss of him from our community and local health care will be deeply felt.

Dr. Costa is very professional and extremely knowledgable. He explains his diagnosis and options for treatment clearly and in understandable terms. His post op follow up was very appreciated. I highly recommend him.

After I thought I had fractured a toe, I was given an appointment rapidly. Dr. Costa took a thorough history and did an excellent workup. He followed my progress carefully and at all times provided me with superb explanations. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him.

Dr. Costa has been m.y doctor for 15 yrs.,5 surgeries. He has always listens to everything you have to say and answers all questions to your satisfaction and then some. always very proffessional and works with you to find a solution and not just 'TAKE A PILL". HE GENUINELY CARES FOR ALL HIS PATIENTS AND THEIR WELL BEING. i never hesitate to recommend Dr. Costa to anyone. I trust him implicitly to do the best job and he never disappoints. We need more doctors like him!

I have been very pleased with the treatment I received from Dr. Costa over the course of many years. He always got me in promptly, spent significant time with me, diagnosed my problem(s) quickly, and provided appropriate treatment. His care has always been exemplary and I have recommended him to several friends who needed orthopedic assistance.

Easily the rudest doctor I have ever seen. I chose to not have him treat me but tried a second time when he was recommended for another problem. I thought the first might have been a bad day but Dr Costa was just as abrupt and ornery. There is no excuse for a medical professional to behave this way. The office staff are also not pleasant and the wait was long, even though the waiting room had few people. My guess is that the Dr was late, as well as grumpy. If Dr Costa is a good surgeon, it is hard to get to the point where you find out.

He is a very cold doctor with real bad bedside manners for his patients.. i truly think once you go to him and he gives you a diagnosis he should be able to understand how much in pain your in and not to b rush it off like its nothing... i just dont think he is a kind doctor

Does not care you are in pain. Too many xrays. Very delayed treatment. Not gentle. Very bad bedside manner. His staff is extremely rude. Go to someone else.
