Dr. Leon Matthew Ptaszek, MD

I had a cardiac ablation last week with another doctor away Mass General. I was still having severe chest pain and groin pain that I couldn't take it anymore. I called the answering service after hours, and Dr. Ptaszek called me back within 5 minutes!!! What doctor replies that fast? Amazing. He thoroughly went through my chart took time with me to explain things and to help me get squared away with the pain and trouble breathing. He's very very smart, kind, helpful and sweet. I almost want to switch to him instead! Haha.. But great guy, I absolutely recommend him.'

Dr. Ptaszek is like no other doctor I have met. Obviously by the time you become an electrophysiologist with a PHD you are in an elite group of doctors. This means you completed 4 years of medical school, 5 year of residency, plus a PHD. He has the technical expertise. But what sets him apart from other doctors is that he has skills that you can't get out of a book. He is kind, considerate and treats you like a human being instead of a number. His bedside manner is fantastic and he puts all your fears to ease. I had 2nd stage heart block and that was mis-diagnosed by another doctor. I am otherwise healthy, but at 57 years old I found out I needed a pacemaker. Dr. Ptazek did my pacemaker surgery and I have seen him for 3 follow-up visits. Each time he has spent at least 1/2 hour with me, answered any question I have had (and I usually have many), listens, and truly cares. He is an exceptional doctor and I feel very fortunate to be in such good hands.
