Dr. Leonard Marc Horowitz, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Horowitz for over 20 years. I find the office staff professional, caring and courteous who follow up when needed. Dr. Horowitz is an astute doctor whose knowledge of general medicine complimented by homeopathy is a rare find which I greatly appreciate.

Dr. Horowitz had been a godsend to me and my family. He is kind, compassionate and highly responsive to our needs.

My first visit there was with my newborn 5 days old. all of the office staff came around to meet her and it seem as though they were all anticipating our arrival. That made me feel so good. Dr horowitz was out that week so we saw maureen the nurse practitioner. I was having a hard time adjusting to the nursing schedule and maureen stayed with my for an hour trying to coach me and encourage me. that is unheard of in most practices. there were patients waiting in the lobby but when I went out and they saw the baby they all said no problem and congratulated me on the baby. I felt like I had just entered a new family. Since then I have seen dr. horowitz a number of times and I think he is great. I also have alternative ideas about vaccines and he is very respectful of them.

I have been a patient for many years and I absolutely love Dr. Horowitz. I find him very caring and easy to talk to about all health issues. He always takes the time to talk to me in detail about the risks and benefits of any given medication or procedure. I had my first appoint with his associate Maureen Tomson (not sure if she is an RN or a doctor or what her credentials are) and was HORRIFIED. She rushed me through my entire appointment and spent more time berating me and criticizing my eating and exercising habits (even though I am on the thin side of healthy) and my choices regarding medication and health tests then anything else. I needed a referral for a specialist; she suggested that I use the internet to find a specialist. I was so insulted, I PAY them to make recommendations for me health, not to tell me to use google to find a specialist. She also wrote me a prescription for the WRONG thing. After that I didnt even bother bringing up my other concerns. She made me feel… so embarrassed, criticized and ill at ease. From now on I am only going to see Dr. Horowitz.

What impresses me most is my appointments are not over till I say that I am done. I get to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers. I seldom have to return to the office for a follow up.

We brought our baby to see Dr. Horowitz, interested in his homeopathy practice and an alternative vaccine schedule. Overall, we were very disappointed. We found him to be consistently dismissive of our questions, and we always felt rushed out the door after 15 minutes. Being a homeopathic doctor, as well as an MD, we expected a little more time for the typical homeopathic intake. He did not do this, nor did he ever offer homeopathic remedies before pharmaceutical ones. While he "would not kick us out of the practice" for differently vaccinating, he would not discuss vaccines with us to help us make decisions. The last straw was when I called after my baby had had a low-grade fever for over a week and he had no advice other than to say "maybe he has something that he should have been vaccinated for by now" but could not suggest what or what to do. Our baby was only a week late for his first vaccine at that time, and it was because of that fever that we delayed. We have since… found a fantastic doctor for our son. The new doctor thought it reasonable to delay vaccines for a long-term low-grade fever and has helped us resolve the fever, as well as other chronic issues for which Dr. Horowitz had little to say (everything was always "fine"). Our baby is much happier now, and we feel relieved and respected.

What a refreshing visit. The front staff were friendly and professional, they actually look at you with a smile.Dr Horowitz comes into the lobby and asks you to come in himself! Wow. that never happens. The overall experience is relaxing and prompt but the best part is Dr. Horowitz listens and takes care of the problem period.

I was a patient of Dr. Horowitz for about twenty years, along with my two children. Dr. Horowitz is extremely patient, kind and gentle, as well as being thorough and attentive to detail. He takes a conservative common sense approach to health issues, not just throwing prescriptions and referrals at patients, but paying attention to the trajectory of a problem. He returns calls promptly and remembers who you are. You will not fall through the cracks with this doctor. His office staff are extremely personable. I was sad to have to change physicians after I moved out of the area!
