Dr. Leslie Elizabeth Barnes-Young, PhD

I don't know why there are negative reviews regarding Dr. Barnes-Young. I am in the process of out processing the military and talked with Dr. Barnes-Young as a part of the VES (VA) process. Dr. Barnes-Young took a significant amount of time to talk with me to understand my full situation. I felt genuine care from her and felt the time she gave me was adequate and a fair amount of itme with the diagnosis she presented. Thank you for taking the time to "understand" me and the situations I have lived through over the last 20 years. I wish I could talk to her more.

If I could give zero stars, I would. If you are an african american veteran, PLEASE do not attend a schedule exam with this provider. I now see why the appointment prior to mine with her was cancelled. She is absolutely against black veterans getting the benefits they FOUGHT for and DESERVE. She will do any and everything in her power to NEGATE and DISCREDIT what you tell her or what you've been through. I pray VES and the VA removes this woman from their records. I WILL be filing a discrimination lawsuit as well.

This lady is ridiculous, and she's not for black veterans, she tells the VA what she wants too even though it's not true, she was the reason VA lower my husband rating, VES NEEDS TO REEVALUATE HER, and fire her, she knows nothing about MENTAL ILLNESS, VA sent my husband there for c&p 3 times,. And all three were unfavorable, infact they lower his rating because of her thank God I took notes of every VISIT with her, I know 6 more black men and women that VA sent to her and she hurt their claim as well, something has to be done with the lady, I'm not against white or any race, but this lady is unfair she is ridiculous, she makes VES look BAD..my husband have another c&p with her soon, same thing MENTAL we already know how it's going to go(unfavorable) from her but we had one done with a private doctor as well, VA will soon find out about this lady, I will keep you guys posted after this 4th c&p from her next week..My advice to you guys is to get a dbq from a private doctor before you… go to her and turn that in to VA when she turns her paperwork in to VA otherwise she will stop you especially if you're black Just stay away from HER, she doesn't have a clue about REAL mental illness and what these veterans go though and how hard it is living with depression, anxiety, mental illness is so hard for our veterans, than you gotta deal with someone like this she probably never been in the military to even know what they went through, each mental case is different..IF YOU ARE SCHEDULE TO SEE HER ASK VES TO GIVE YOU SOMEONE ELSE!!will update after this 4th c&p with her for the same thing

Truly clueless regarding Veterans, Depressive Disorders and PTSD. Stay away as she has no experience and is only interested in receiving a paycheck.
