Dr. Leslie Ann Caren, MD

Dr. Leslie Caren is one of the most wonderful doctors I have ever met. She is very thoughtful, kind, and very sure to get to the root of your health issues. A plus???? in my book.

Took my children and I to see her when we first moved here and saw her for a little over a year until I finally took my kids out of her care due to gross malpractice. She often prescribed medicines that there were allergies too or were dangerous to take with other medicines she prescribed. Refused to prescribe any medicines from prior doctor's. Confused my charts constantly with the charts of my children and mother. I.e. thinking I had diabetes or that I or my child was allergic to penicillin and prescribed drugs we were actually allergic to or getting test results wrong. Not listening to her patients or caring even to the point of arguing and talking over them. This being whenever we actually could even see her, which wasn't very often and we had to get in to her nurse, Brenda Pope who thinks she is a doctor but is far from it, most of the time forgetting even minor nurse functions of taking vitals and she constantly touches patients inappropriately and is overtly over nice to… make up for her incompetence. When I tried to express my concerns to them they simply kicked me out without telling me, leaving me in the middle of a pandemic without a doctor and refused to give me my blood pressure meds until I could find another doctor. Life threatening malpractice! I've never found it necessary to leave a review for a doctor until now but this was way over the top and I waited a year to write one giving myself time to collect my thoughts about this experience which I am lucky to have gotten myself and kids out of but I'm worried about her current or future patients. She is still putting family members at risk with her negligence and lack of common sense. This goes way beyond wait times, office staff, difficulty of getting an appointment, which all doctor's in this area seem to have trouble with but her office is one of the worst.

Most uncaring physician I’ve ever been to

I have been a patient of Dr. Caren's for several years and can honestly say she is 100% committed to her patients. No matter what time of the day you see her, she will give you all the time you need. She listens intently, and provides thoughtful, personalized care. I am so glad that she is my primary care physician.

First let me say that my wife and I have been going to Dr Caren for at least 15 years and she has literally saved my life. You do wait and I have walked out more than once but that has happened with other doctor's out of St Joes. She has gone the extra mile for me and is definitely not a pill pusher. Take a book when you visit but know that your medical needs will be well taken care of.

Dr Caren has been seeing both of my kids for several years. Even if she is overbooked she will squeeze them in. She shows great compassion, love and understanding. She treats my kids like they are her own! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I love Dr Leslie Caren and all her staff. Yes, they run late for appointments but I think it is because she loves spending time with each patient. I just bring something to do while I wait. This office has a complete medical questionnaire that Dr Caren takes the time to review and find out additional info about you. Dr Hadeel Razook, Brenda Pope, Dr Caren and their staff are all caring people and treat you like you are family.

My children and I have been patients of her office for 4 1/2 years now. I absolutely love her! She is kind, caring, she takes time and actually listens. She is very on top of everything! Anytime I've ever had any questions and/or concerns about my health or the health of any of my children, she's been available and attentive to our needs. When on call, she has always called us back promptly when needed for one of our children. The one problem with her office is the wait time, however, I can overlook that and deal with it in order to be happy with my medical care.

I've been taking my children to Dr. Caren, and Brenda Pope, for a number of years. After my son's appointment today, we will never be back. As I read in previous reviews, I agree with the last couple. I pulled my son early from school for his 3:20 appointment. After waiting, and waiting, and waiting, Brenda finally came in at 4:45. I've given this doctor's office numerous chances. This was for a prescription refill! No shots needed, just a few questions and checkup. I am beyond disappointed in the lack of compassion the staff has as well. I than went up front to pay my co-pay. Stood there waiting for a receipt, and 16¢ change. Kathy sat in her chair, back toward me, and after waiting for another 3 minutes with either of those in hand, I walked out. They even have a sign up saying they are taking new patients. WHY? They can't even see the patients they have. I can't waste anymore of my time with this practice. You shouldn't either.

Although Dr Caren is a nice person, she and her office staff lack consideration for the patient. Of the five times I have been to the office to either see Dr Caren of Brenda Pope I have waited hours. I set one appointment to be the first appointment of the day and Dr. Caren was late. On my last visit I was not even seen, not due to an emergency they were just running so late obviously they overbook appointments. The urgent care facility i went to and my own pharmacy were well aware of time management problems with this office. Shameful!
