Dr. Lester Neil Fogelsanger, MD

He needs more help then I do!

Have just had a disheartening experience overall with Dr. Fogelsanger. Comes off as helpful in the beginning, but after a while he makes you feel more sick than you actually are. He has a sense of constant edginess to him and shows no empathy for patients. Left after a few sessions as I felt like he was just taking me in circles. Think he should see a psychiatrist himself before treating others. Avoid him if you have a choice, good luck with him otherwise.

Who in the world gave this guy a medical degree? RUN FOR THE HILLS

This doctor is dangerous! I have had the unfortunate experience of being his patient for years (I was too sick to know any better) and he missed diagnoses, refused to evaluate me for issues I felt I had (which I was later actually diagnosed with), blames the patient for his incompetence (ex. after discussing and deciding together that we will remove a medication, he blames me for manipulating him into removing the medication and resisting treatment), he thinks I am always using substances and has in the past tried to even convince my husband that I was using as well (he didn't buy it and felt the guy was STRANGE at the very least), he thinks I am constantly lying, manipulating and non-compliant. His psychotherapy consists of TELLING you how you feel and gaslighting (if he can convince his patients that they r the "crazy" ones, they will keep coming back to see him). THERE IS SO MUCH MORE... FIND SOMEONE ELSE! I always felt worse after my appointments with him!

If I could give him 0 stars, I would. I don't understand how this guy is even allowed to practice psychiatry. He is not interested in helping you get better at all. I felt worse coming out of his appointments EVERY TIME... that is NOT how it is supposed to be!

Great perspective on life matters

This man has no people skills. He talks about himself in the third person. "Are you here to see Dr. Fogelsanger?" Not "Hi, I'm Dr. Fogelsanger." Almost like he pretends to be his own receptionist. He then walks into his office and closes the door to check his calendar. Meanwhile, you are sitting in a mini-alcove hardly big enough for two people. He then returns. If it is your first time, you get to fill out your information in that tiny place, not in his office. He then introduces himself. Scheduling was a nightmare. He changed times on me twice in 3 visits and did not show up for the 3rd. On my intake, he spent an hour trying to psychoanalyze me even though I already had a counselor and just wanted meds. I was not ready to share my personal life history him. He may be a good doctor; my meds are OK but the pain of getting them was just not worth it.

We live in a backwards world where this man is allowed to guide others in their mental health. Always distracted, tries to multitask (unsuccessfully), interrupts, asks questions that were answered minutes before, shows no empathy or true concern for well-being, appears to be skeptical of everything - even basic pieces of information. It is possible that he is really smart about the medication part of his job but I'm not educated enough to be sure . But PEOPLE...wow....he does not "get" people.

This person was unprofessional.

Interupted me through our entire first visit. Exclaimed this "isn't going to work" numerous times within first few minutes of our first appointment.
