Dr. Lewis Howard Semel, MD

From the minute I walked in the door every staff member I interacted with was friendly, confident and knowledgeable. Dr. Semel was great. He is knowledgeable and just as warm as the staff. I was also in and out of the office in under an hour. I highly recommend Dr. Semel and his staff.

The staff of this office are some of the most uncaring, cruel, and bullying people you will ever meet. My father is an 88 year old cancer patient. We have seen Dr. Semel exactly two time before, and each time we waiting for approximately 90 minutes to see the doctor. This is extremely difficult for my father. On a third visit, as I was about to take my father out of bed and into his wheelchair (then to the car), I called the office to inform them that we would be about 10 minutes late for our appointment. The staff and then the office manager informed me that if arrived more than 15 minutes later than our appointment time, that we would have to return home without seeing the doctor. Not only that, but the office manager spoke to me like I was a prisoner and she was the guard. There is not a shred of compassion in this office. The staff and then the office manager informed me that if arrived more than 15 minutes later than our appointment time, that we would have to return home without seeing the doctor. Not only that, but the office manager spoke to me like I was a prisoner and she was the guard. There is not a shred of compassion in this office. I informed her of my father’s medical condition, but it did not make a shred of difference. She was just as nasty and inflexible towards me. It’s okay for this office to make a sick patient wait for 90 minutes past his appointment time, but not for the patient to arrive 1 minute after 15 minutes from the appointment time. And as far as Dr. Semel is concerned, he really had no idea about how to treat my father (medically) or about any of his medications. But unfortunately, only a primary doctor can prescribe thyroid hormone, and my father needed that. But Dr. Semel clearly does not understand the intricacies of thyroid treatment. He is under that impression that only TSH and T4 matter, not T3 or reverse T3. Stay away from this cruel office!

Dr. Semel is competent, knowledgeable, patient, caring, and displays an awesome bedside manner, which is a rarity nowadays. With Dr. Semel I feel as though I am his "only patient". He never rushes during a visit and is an excellent diagnostician. I am very happy to have finally found a doctor I can trust.

The Office Staff is pleasant, professional and attentive. The overall atmosphere has a positive vibe. Dr. Semel has a wonderful bedside manner/personality. He is brilliant, caring, highly communicative and was sensitive to my needs. Dr. Semel's treatment philosophy is more of a holistic approach which I greatly appreciated. I certainly recommend Dr. Semel to anyone looking for a physician that treats you as a whole person.

Dr. Semel and his staff are very warm and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable on my first visit. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a new primary care physician that will take their time, answer all of your questions, and explain things thoroughly.
