Dr. Lewiston Wilbert Birkmann, MD

Great doctor. Super patient with me and really listened.

Dr. Birkmann was courteous, thorough, and very helpful.

First, I had to wait an hour and a half to be seen. In that time no one even checked on me. No nurse came in to ask why I was there, nothing. All I was there for was to get results of an MRI. When Dr. Birkmann finally came in, he told me I had a brain tumor. Naturally I was scared, but as we talked more, he said that he needed to get my paperwork sent over from another dr. He hadn't even looked at my results! He didn't even have them. When he finally got them, he told me that it wasn't a tumor, it was something that was not even a concern. He was not apologetic for this "mistake". In fact, he started lecturing me about seeing a chiropractor, who happens to be the only person who is actually helping me. When I asked if he had any ideas since the chiro was a bad idea, he of course did not. This was an absolutely horrible experience. And on top of all that, the staff was very rude and condescending. I will never set foot in this place again.

Dr. Birkmann was very helpful, knowledgable, and reassuring! HOWEVER, the office is run horribly. I waited over half an hour for my appointment (although he may have spent some of that time reviewing my history - in which case I should have been informed). But good luck with calling them (there's a maze of phone menus, with several options that hang up on you) or getting paperwork or a referral after your visit! They lost my chart for more than a month, and it's taken over a week for them to refer me to the next specialist he told me to see, in spite of time limitations (which I have repeatedly informed them of) on my end. Altogether, a very competent doctor surrounded by incompetent & frustrating staff!
