Dr. Liat Elma Applewhite, MD

The WORST DOCTOR EVER YOU SEE IN YOUR LIFE. Avoid like a PLAGUE. NON emphatic and has zero listening skills!

I will refuse to see this doctor if she appears in the room again at North Shore hospital. She was extremely patronizing and did not explain anything. She had one foot out the door the entire time. She asked if I had any questions and when I started asking she cut me off and asked when my normal OB appointment was and said I could ask my doctor then. RUDE.

I was suprised to hear such negative comments about Dr Applewhite; she was my ob/gyn dr in May 1998 at then Long Island College Hospital. I would experience miscarriages in the 1st week of my fifth month of pregnancy and Dr Applewhite diagnosed that I would get infections which caused my water to break and that is why i miscarried. She put me on antibiotics and performed a circlage(tying of my cervix) and bed rest. My water broke during the 1st week of my sixth month; I was hospitalized and she monitored me with care and concern. My daughter was born at 28 weeks 2.3 lbs. Dr Applewhite, I pray that you are reading your comments and working to resolve them. I wanted to reach out to you to thank you for taking such good care of me and to send pictures of "our" now teenage baby. I hope that you are walking around your office waiting areas to check on your clients in between visits to see if they are okay.

Try waiting 5 hours. This is a terrible place to be. I also feel that I have been misdiagnosed and am being overly medicated. Thank The Lord that I have been blessed with common sense and have not been taking her advice. What a joke. She lets all her residents do her appointments while she walks around gossiping. Getting a new doctor ASAP. If I could I'd give this woman no stars at all.

My wife and I found ourselves at the claws of this so called doctor. We came in for a scheduled 12 week NT Scan. The sono tech was very nice, she couldnt get our baby in the right position for an NT scan. Shortly after she said she had to bring in the doctor to explain what to my wife and I the results of the NT scan. When Liat Applewhite came in to the room she began to recite what sounded like a script she has memorized. She began with saying our baby was abnormal, when I asked what she meant, she repeated " I just told you that your baby is abnormal". My wife at that instant began to cry, and when Liat Applewhite say this she said" "its not the end of the world". I could not believe that this woman was a doctor. As you can imagine, I had questions. I tried to ask a question and she kept repeating the same phrase: "your baby is abnormal". She did not want to answer any of my questions, at this point I wasnt even sure if she was a real doctor. She never really identified herself as… a doctor, So I asked if she was the doctor, and she went on to recite her credentials. I would recommend to never see this woman. I have never met a doctor who seemed so angry at the world. Stay away and stay away from the butcher shop called Lutheran Medical Center.
