Dr. Lila Tarmin, MD

Dr Tarmin is very diligent in her profession. I believe that she is a great doctor. However, her ability to dealwith different personalities may need adjustment. I believe that as a professional, comments can determine a future. It can either lift or crush you as an individual.

During my second colonoscopy with Dr. Tarmin, she noted what appeared to be a malignancy. She took the appropiate biopsy samples. By the time I was recovered, she had already called a colo-rectal surgeon for me. She was gentle and careful in explaining what she had found, as well as being optimistic. I had the tumor removed, and am psot-chemo. She is a wonderfully caring doctor, and she will be my GI doc for as long as I need one.

I was referred to her by Internist for a procedure. I did not meet her until the day of the procedure and she was very very arrogant and very rude. She never introduced herself. She laughed and joked with her nurses and when I said something to her she told me, she told me that she was not talking to me. If the procedure was not already started, I would not have let her do it. I would not recommand her to anyone. I am black, I do not know if that was the reason for her treatment to me or just because she did not like me for some other reason. But I had not meet her before the procedure so I know did not do anything to cause her to treat me the way that she did. I will never ever go to her again and again I do not recommand anyone go to her.

I was referred to Dr. Tarmin when I talked to my primary care doctor about extreme nausea I was having. I could not keep food down, and I was miserable. After my primary care doctor did some tests, she referred me to Dr. Tarmin. At first, Dr. Tarmin was convinced the issue was specific, but when it turned out that it wasn't, she started looking elsewhere. Ultimately, it was determined the nausea was part of another disorder I have, and with the help of some prescription anti-nausea medication, I've done fairly well. Dr. Tarmin has always been available to speak to my other specialists (a rare thing among doctors!), and promptly returns phone calls. This past winter when I had issues related to a surgical procedure, she was available to me by phone & email. I continue to drive to see her even though I no longer live near her primary office.

I saw Dr Lila Tarmin and immediately knew she was a good doctor. She asked the right questions and gave me the time I needed to discuss all my health concerns. She didn't rush me out or give me a bunch of prescriptions like most Doctors do nowadays. She was great! Also, the staff at Woodholme were incredibly friendly and helpful :)
