Arrogant and not a decent person. She is cold and dismissive interpersonally, even when she smiles, and she terrified my child and all of us when we met her. But we were willing to look past this--she's a brain surgeon, we reasoned--she doesn't get paid to be charming, and maybe her arrogant confidence and mean-spirited impatience with our earnest questions could ultimately be a good thing. But I wish we had trusted our gut on this awful person. As a surgeon she can be just fine, as long as things go well. Some people love her. But when things don’t go as planned--if something goes wrong--she can become deceptive and cruel. It's hard to have confidence that she is telling you the truth, or putting your child’s well being first. She is known to badmouth surgeons at other institutions, but there are better options out there for your child, including some fine and decent neurosurgeons at BCH. Please be careful with this choice-don’t be fooled by her stature or her bluster.

Our appointment was cancelled the day before, after my husband took the day off, he was unable to make the appointment as he could not get the next day off with such short notice. After reading other reviews based on other patients and their experiences with Dr Gourmnerva, perhaps she was having an off day. She spent about 5 minutes with my Son, he felt so intimidated and disregarded by his symptoms of Chiari Malformation, that he burst into tears within 10 minutes of appointment. I just expected more compassion from a woman of a Childrens Hospital. We will be seeking a 2nd opinion from an alternative hospital to further review my Sons condition.

Dr. G has been caring for my daughter for 15 years. She is a extremely articulate, caring and also answers our questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. A meticulous diagnostician and surgeon. If another Dr. says "things look okay.", I don't believe them. When Dr. G. says it , I can be sure. Her opion is always right. Very compassioate.

dr g did an excellent job relieving my 25 years of excruciating headaches. I had been to many doctors. iI had chiari malformation.I haven,t had a headache since.

A compassionate, thorough, very intelligent, and extremely caring woman who has an amazing bedside manner and is incredibly thoughtful in her approach to patient care. She is also a very gifted surgeon. Highly recommended.

Dr. Gumnerova has excellent bedside manner and follow up care! She has been the best for follow-up care after our son was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor...He is now a young adult who feels comfortable and confident to be free to be in touch with Dr. G. re: his medical situation as he moves into adulthood.
