Dr. Linda Mae Chin, MD

I used this practice for approximately 8 years. It was wonderful until the nurse/office manager started making all decisions for the doctor to include that you can't bring children with you to appointment, you can only ask doctor about one thing so if you are trying to get a prescription refill and have another issue, you have to make another appointment as you can't do both at the same time. I ended up having to leave this practice with my entire family! Such a shame that they started out so good but then decided that servicing patients was less important than being an express lane for patients. They had flyers up everywhere telling you that if you had any issue, don't go to the acute care facilities but to call them and they would see you. However, when you called, they couldn't get you in for months. Who needs to see a doctor about sinus infections, etc. 2-3 months later? And if you were in a car accident and the ER tells you to follow up with your regular doctor? Forget this… practice because they refuse to see you! In addition, doctor put me on opiates and benzodiazepines at the same time. I was told it was a wonder that I hadn't died because you aren't supposed to take both due to risk of death.

If you can handle the completely incompetent office staff, they are great doctors. Unfortunately, they are so bad that after seven years, I am trying to find a new doctor. If the docs knew about this staff issue, I can't imagine they would be ok with this. If they do, we are all better off at a more professional office with caring and competent staff.

I just moved back to Columbus and went with Dr. Chin. She really took the time to get to know me and truly cares. Highly recommend. I even recommended her to my mom and now she sees her. Super nice lady.

Dr Chin is quite decent but, she is scared of her staff....

Dr Chin always makes time for me and gives me a chance to ask my questions. Shes the only Doctor Ive ever met who actually walks me to the door! Friendly and efficient. This office runs on time.

Dr. Chin and the Family Care North staff have always been friendly and professional each time I've called to make an appointment, called the office for information, or had an appointment with Dr. Chin. Dr. Chin has been my primary physician since 2000, and I have always been treated with respect. I have never had any problems with her or the office staff. I probably wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for Dr. Chin. She has lowered my blood pressure to normal, which is something I can't thank her enough for. Every health problem I have had, she has had no problem figuring out what the cause was and has treated it accordingly to get me back on the right track. I highly recommend Dr. Chin to anyone that is need of a doctor. You will be glad you went to Family Care North.

I loveeeeeee my doctor. She is the sweetest. Always gives me the right advice and truely cares about my health. The office is a little old fashioned looking but her bedside manners makes me completely overlook that!

I called in to get an appointment for a kidney infection and was told that I couldn't get in for 2 weeks!! I was running a high fever and experiencing kidney pain, but they called me in medicine for arthritis!! This is one of the worst doctors I have ever been to. I was a patient here for 2 years and had several incidents similiar to this , but found a new gp after this one. Also had many incidents of having things misfiled with insurance and having to pay out of pocket until they fixed their error. Doctor and staff were patronizing. Terrible experience. Use Family Care North at your own risk!

Warning: Our family has enjoyed seeing seen Dr. Chin and Dr. Royer at Family Care North in Columbus, GA for several years. The Georgia Department of Corporations lists Dr. Royer as the CEO and Dr. Chin as the CFO and Secretary. The office is sterile and not un-inviting. Financial policies are conspicuously posted informing you payment is expected at the time of service. Well, last week we had back-to-back appointments with Dr. Chin for my wife and our baby boy (the first appointments of the day). The baby is nursed on demand so staying together as a family was important to us. A member of the staff, Darla, took us aside and informed us office policy prohibited me from attending the appointment with my wife. She went on to say only one of us could be present with the baby unless that parent and the doctor agreed on the presence of the second parent. Huh?! This presented several problems for obvious reasons. At a minimum, we are the childâ??s (married) biological parents, so we… have equal rights and interests in our childrenâ??s medical care. Plus, as the sole provider for a family of six, I have a vested interest in my wifeâ??s health and she did not object to my presence. We asked Darla for an explanation hoping we could reach a compromise and that this policy was based in some logic which was less than obvious. We even mentioned that just three weeks earlier, we had both attended an appointment with our youngest daughter and there was no mention of this â??policyâ??. We were surprised to discover the doctors do not equip their staff to provide any reasonable explanation. We received nothing other than â??Iâ??m sorry, that is our policy.â?? We asked to speak with Dr. Chin. Darla returned a few moments later and said Dr. Chin was â??too busy.â?? We had back to back appointments at 8:30 and 9:00 so that was a lie. As we were leaving we asked if anyone would call us to offer an explanation. Darla replied â??the office manager may call you but I canâ??t guarantee anything.â?? We left the office feeling slightly embarrassed, frustrated, and inconvenienced by doctors we felt had been disrespectful to us and who should have behaved as professional health-care providers. Although we understand all businesses have policies, Family Care North should equip their staff to provide the rationale behind policies when less than obvious. We feel we are owed an explanation if not an apology.
