Dr. Linda Washington, PhD

Dr. Washington has been working with me for almost six months now and I’ve never felt more in control of myself. She has walked me through various techniques to understand and control my feelings and thoughts. She has also allowed me to share what I wanted to share when I was ready to share it. She praises me for milestones made and continues to encourage me through pain. I was skeptical for years about getting help from a therapist, but she has been a godsend.

Dr. Washington is very impatient and seems to not want to counsel her patients. She did an assessment test which made me feel like I was in a physic ward. I did my session on my lunch break via virtually and as she was starting the session I had to eat and she suggested we reschedule. I was like if me eating is a problem I apologize and she still insisted on rescheduling. So after a little back and forth the session continued. The entire session we talked about my familys physical health history which I don’t see how this is relevant to my session. I ended the session 10 minutes early because I was so dissatisfied and I spent my entire break doing a assessment where I had to repeat 3 elementary words, asked what she was holding in her hand and what year and day it was. I called safe harbor to request another counselor. Dr Washington is just not what I was looking for in a counselor.

Signifigant other and I were having issues and came to this DR for counseling. My siginifigant other changed her mind and decided she didn't want to go. I called this "Dr" to explain the situation and she said while she would be happy to help, she couldn't force her to go. I agreed. S.O changed her mind and said she would come. I called the Dr. Again, and she said she thinks we need another therapist. I asked her why, and she there is too much changing of the minds. There was literally one instance of my S.O saying that she did not want to come. It seems any Therapist worth their salt would understand that people have objections to coming to a Therapist. This is really bizarre to me from someone in a helping profession. Again, one objection that was overcame and she isn't willing to help????? I guess she did us a favor in the end. Yikes.
