Dr. Linet Rose Dmorias, MD

My experience with this doctor was terrible and traumatic. She actually yelled at me in her office and refused to refer me to a specialist because I was "self-diagnosing." I had to self-diagnose because I was not getting any answers. I had to appeal the decision to my insurance, and it was quite a battle. I finally switched to a different GP, and things have gone remarkably smoothly since. Referrals are easy, and my insurance has now approved everything and I'm doing much better. I think the office is more concerned with profit than with patient health and well-being. There is no bedside manner, and she seems ready for confrontation at any moment.

My appointment was set for 3:30 but was asked to come in 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived at 2:45 and completed the paperwork shortly after 3pm. I chatted with a lady in the office who had an appointment at 4pm. Just before 4pm SHE was called in to see the doctor leaving me in the lobby until after 4:30. When I was called in to see the doctor she spend no more than 20 minutes with me.Her only staff member called me approx a week after the appointment and was very snide with me because my insurance company was slow to convert my employee plan over to a cobra plan. Not one day was left uncovered but when she called she said she informed the specialists office of my "insurance statis". Needless to say I am too embarassed to see the specialist even thou my insurance is now converted and okay.Today I received my insurance EOB and they billed my insurance $200. Wow, $10 a minute. Certainly not worth what I experienced from their office.

There are various things I could comment on; but I think she does unnecessary tests, wastes your time, and is milking the Medicare system. The "straw" for me was when I was very sick with the flu. I had been a patient for a couple of years, so she knew me; I had also been in the office three weeks prior to this for a sinus infection. I called the office and asked if she could prescribe something for me. They said she couldn't do anything over the phone. I had to come in. I gave up and spent the weekend very ill. Over the weekend a friend brought me some medication her Dr. at Kaiser had given her for the same thing. It helped tremendously. On Monday, I called again and asked again if Dr. D'Morias could call in a Rx for this medication. They said no, I had to come in. They got me in right away and I saw her with no delay. She balled me out for having taken someone else's meds. I told her I was so sick I would have taken ANYTHING! I was feeling a little better, so she told… me I DIDN'T NEED ANY MEDICATION. I was upset and told her how sick I had been. She said I should have come in. I told her politely that I had explained to her nurse that I was literally on the toilet with diarrhea throwing up in the waste basket. This is what she told me... I made her repeat it because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This is pretty close to a quote: "THAT IS WHAT EMERGENCY ROOMS ARE FOR. IF YOU ARE TOO SICK TO COME IN HERE, YOU CALL 911 AND GET AN AMBULANCE TO TAKE YOU TO A HOSPITAL. AND IF I AM NOT TOO SICK TO COME IN, I AM WELL ENOUGH NOT TO NEED ANY MEDICATION!" She is maxing out my insurance with tests (and I have nothing wrong but a slightly elevated thyroid). She wants me to have blood panels done every three months. She sent me for an MRI, X ray, and several other test when I pulled a muscle in my back and really just needed a muscle relaxer. It got better in a couple of weeks on it's own. I also find her intimidating, and I am not easily intimidated. I have never written anything like this before, but I want to let people know what my experience was. I haven't found a new doctor yet, so she may 'dump' me if she reads this.
