Dr. Lisa D Blackburn, MD

I have seen 3 psychiatrists prior to Dr. Blackburn and she is in a league of her own!! You NEVER feel like a number at this office. She is insightful, empathetic, makes you feel comfortable and extremely knowledgeable and open minded. I have been dealing with her for over 5 years and can’t even find one thing to complain about. They are a small office of just husband and wife so expect to leave messages and have some waiting times for certain things but it is WELL worth it.

Office Manager is just terrible.

Dr. Blackburn does not return phone calls. She neglects to send your prescriptions to the drug store. She takes vacations for months at a time, during which there's simply no getting in touch with her. A simple phone request for a copy of your medical records gets no response at all.

Moved across the country and had a change of benefits but I would have happily stayed wih Dr. Blackburn and just scheduled my appointments around visits back to the Philly area if it had been possible! All aspects, from making an appointment to discussing the side effects and a potential need for a need for change in medications, were fully addressed and wonderful. Dr. Blackburn could even pick up on it when I was not doing well and treat appropriately. Because of her, I was able to accomplish everything I needed to through grad school and professionally afterwards. Jon, who works as the receptionist, is incredibly kind and was able to help even when I needed last minute refills. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Blackburn and her practice!

I have been seeing Dr. Blackburn for about six months now and I can tell you that you won't find a psychiatrist better than her. She is intelligent, patient, caring and has a great heart. Most psychiatrists I have seen in the past you were in and out of their office within ten minutes with a new prescription. Dr. Blackburn conducts a thorough evaluation and really takes the time to figure out the problem and the best treatment. Her follow-up sessions are just as thorough and I feel like I can tell her anything and she will understand. She is very insightful and intelligent and just gets people. She has honestly gotten me through some very tough times this year and I don't know what I would do without her. Her husband John manages the daily operations of the firm and he is just as friendly and helpful. They make a great team.
