I went to see Dr. Darby today and had waited over 2 months to find a Vascular doctor. I have struggled for many many months trying to get into a Vascular or Vein care doctor due to my problems and I was informed by a 2 time board certified surgeon that I had vein reflux and needed laser to stop the vein. Dr. Darby with extreme rudeness spoke down to me because I have Medicare/Medicaid combined. She seemed to be repulsed because I was not (wealthy) it seemed. She verbally used a tone with me that expressed this well to me. Next, she was it seemed disgusted that I admitted that I smoked cigarettes. Yet, my problems have stemmed from being an above knee amputee for nearly 20 years and many factors. I can handle her looking down at me for not being of her wealth status and looking down at me as a smoker. As people who've never smoked will never know how that is or the intense addiction. Yet I didn't come to her because of my financial status which my Medicare would pay; yet I was… treated like trash and I didn't come because I smoked cigarettes. I came because I was referred for ongoing problems with my veins and leg. As well, my 1 year old child dripped milk onto the blanket of the of the bed; Dr. Darby seemed infuriated over this happening and demanded I place her bottle ACROSS the room. Yet, I couldn't because I was trying to prevent my 1 year old from falling off the bed and I can not walk properly with a above knee amputation and prosthetic device and I informed her that NO I couldn't because I wasn't allowing my baby to fall off the bed!!!! So I went to be put down and judged and someone treat me very disrespectfully. As If, she THOUGHT she was above me due to her financial status and no smoking addiction and I honestly don't know what her problem was completely. Yet. I do not see that any doctor should treat a patient with a need like trash. I would never allow her to do any service for me. Absolutely disgusted with the service provided and will never return. Yet, I'm sure she has enough clients of her class type. Yet, I find it funny that without people with vein problems; she wouldn't have a job.
