Dr. Lisa Slatton Hutto, MD

I have seen Dr. Hutto as my allergy doctor for 34 years and she has made a tremendous difference in my quality of life. I have many allergies, some common, some uncommon, and she helps you navigate through steps to help yourself feel better and control your allergies. Also, she is always available to see me when I need help; she doesn't hand you off to a nurse practitioner (no offense to NP's). She also greatly helped our son who was diagnosed at age 3 with allergy-induced asthma. Her advice and treatments prevented him from having to go to the ER and the hospital.

Had to change to another provider because of scheduling and location to my house. Dr. Hutto was very professional when I saw her. The receptionist and nurse became rude when I informed them I had to change providers. The receptionist was extremely short and rude with me. I had just gotten my allergy shots at around noon and asked if I could take the vials with me since I wouldn't be coming back and she said I would have to wait until the 5pm because they were very busy. When I came back to get them it was nothing more than they already had out when I received my shots. I felt as if I was being treated rudely for leaving. I also didn't like having to watch a program about skin products and the fact that I felt as if they were pressuring me to buy pillow and mattress covers which I already had on my new mattress but after hearing it from them they were not good enough and I should buy what they were selling. I ended up buying two pillow covers from their office and haven't noticed… anything dramatically different from my previous covers. I probably received more literature about skin products than about my disease process. The experience wasn't the best for me personally, and the receptionist shouldn't take her job so personally when someone leaves for location reasons.

I have no idea how these people have any business. They really make you feel unwelcome, the staff is so rude.

Our son has been visiting Dr. Hutto for over a year now, and my wife and I cannot be thankful enough for what she has done for us.At the age of 15, our son had suffered from breathing problems for several years. Since asthma had been in my family, we had asked his Pediatrician if he was suffering from asthma. We were told that he had bronchitis, and they did not want to pin him as an asthmatic.After two midnight visits to the emergency room for Asthma attacks we made the decision to go to Dr. Hutto. Dr. Hutto immediately went into action with several tests and specialty visits. It was determined that our son was allergic to many items, suffered terribly from Asthma, needed his adenoids removed, and has a deviated septum that will be removed in the near future.Dr. Hutto made us aware in the first visit how sick our son was. She took a personal interest in our son like we have never seen with a doctor. She personally called us at home to see how things were progressing, and has been… there for us when we had questions. Her entire staff came to know our son and treated him as though he was their own.Our sons breathing and quality of life has improved greatly. He has gone from a kid that had very little energy to one that is on the school swim team. Because his energy level is much better, his school grades and even his attitude toward life is much better.We would strongly recommend Dr. Hutto for anyone thinking they may have allergy and/or asthma issues. We had no idea how sick our son was, and without Palmetto Allergy and Asthma, we are not sure where his health would be today.

I can say without hesitation that seeing Dr. Hutto has vastly improved my sense of smell, ability to taste, and overall quality of life. The staff at Palmetto Allergy and Asthma is knowledgeable, considerate, friendly, and helpful, and Dr. Hutto takes time to learn about and listen to each patient to determine the best course of action. Before I came to Palmetto Allergy and Asthma, I could barely smell and was using a rescue inhaler several times a week to control my wheezing. Now, after about two years, my sense of smell is improving, I can't remember the last time I need to use my inhaler! My only regret is not taking this step toward improving my life years earlier.

I finally sought help from a specialist, Dr. Lisa Hutto. Dr. Hutto took a thorough and detailed history, did appropriate testing, carefully diagnosed my problem, and fine tuned my medication until I had excellent results. Dr. Huttos treatment has drastically improved the quality of my life. I have never felt better. Without a doubt, Dr. Hutto is one of the best physicians that I have known. In addition to being an excellent practitioner, she is genuinely caring, kind and compassionate. She works hard studying her patients problems and provides comprehensive, exceptional treatment. Additionally, Dr. Hutto has an extremely well run office. Her sterling staff is bright, attentive and kind. Dr. Hutto is the consummate professional and everything that you would hope for in a physician. I enthusiastically recommend her… without reservation.

Dr. Hutto takes time to listen to her patients. She promotes wellness and improved health, not just treating the illness. I was very ill with allergies for years until being sent by a co worker. Her office is well run. There is sometimes a wait as she takes up a lot of time with you when you need it most.
