Dr. Lisa Renee-Palk Spiguel, MD

I cannot say enough good things about dear Dr. Spiguel. From the moment I met her I knew I would be in good hands. She is compassionate, competent, and gave a thorough explanation of my breast cancer and recommended treatment option. My husband and I were impressed with Dr.Spiguel and her bedside manners. She made me feel at ease on the morning of surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Lisa Spiguel to anyone with a new breast cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Spiguel is a top-notch doctor as well as caring and a perfectionist. She takes time with your patients and doesn't rush through things. She listens and has excellent knowledge in her profession and she appears to have the passion of an artist, who loves to paint. Let's face it, her patients have cancer, not a hang nail. May be an excellent surgeon, but she is rude and does not communicate well. I waited three hours to see her, and she refused to discuss any alternatives to surgery. The follow up was cursory and not supportive.

This is an exceptional doctor. She answered my questions, took all the time I needed to understand my options and helped me make difficult decisions. Because of her skills I was able to avoid post op radiation.

If I could give less than one star I would. Dr. Spiguel walked in with a surgical plan that did not fit mine. I was very upset that the first thing she discussed is a preventative mastectomy, NOT the lumpectomy I was informed she would be doing. She also said she would refer me to OBGYN oncology, to talk about having my uterus taken out preventatively as well. AFTER I told her I did not want the mastectomy, she had the nerve to tell me “well if you get cancer you’ll have to get the cancer treatment”, like it was a horrible decision to not even want to think about cutting parts of my body off or out. When my husband mentioned we were trying to get pregnant, Dr. Spiguel said and I quote “A lot of women choose to have a family instead of acting preventatively. I don’t recommend it.” My husband was crushed. he was convinced we HAD to choose the mastectomy and hysterectomy. To make matters worse, she looked and felt my breasts, and informed me that she could not save my nipple, and I would… probably need a reduction BEFORE mastectomy otherwise I would not be a candidate for reconstruction, because I can afford to loose some weight. (Which I’m working on, she didn’t even ask me if I was working on it, just assumed I wasn’t.) In short, this visit freaking sucked and I’m getting a second opinion. I HIGHLY recommend others who see her to do the same

Being diagnosed with breast cancer was devastating.. no one in my family had gone through this. Dr. Spiguel was absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough about how professional she was. As a surgeon she is top notch. She and her entire team are a very caring and competent medical team.

I have been at the office for over 2 hours and have yet to see a doctor. The nurse forgot she had already taken my vitals. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

As a cancer survivor I've been to lots of doctors over the years in many states and she is by far the worst I've been to in my life. Worst bedside manner, total bullying attitude, completely demeaning and belittling. Could care LESS about her patients. With so many doctors to choose from, why anyone would stick with her is beyond me. This one is ice cold.

If you want to hear about all the horrible things that can happen to a person and how much (or should I say, how little) she gets paid, Dr Spiguel is the person for you. She will make you feel like you have no hope... worst attitude in the world for a surgeon. What happened to "thinking positive"??
