Dr. Lisa Lynn Whitcomb, MD

Dr Whitcomb has gone over and above to care for my family, from her kind demeanor, thorough medical care , talented staff , even Christian music in the waiting room. We couldn’t ask for more, I highly recommend this office.

Kind ,caring staff. Dr Whitcomb makes me and my child comfortable, explains her care plan , makes everyone feel that they are a part of the visit .

Lisa has been our DR for over a year since my daughter was born. She has helped us with a variety of problems. Never makes me feel bad for brining my child in..even if just over reactive new mom. :) love her nurses. so many pluses for this DR.

New patients to Dr Whitcomb , finally felt listened to and cared for . The office staff was kind and welcoming. Dr Whitcomb talked to my kids , made them feel like they were a part of their care . Impressed by her knowledge of development , diet and healthy living . Strongly recommend this office , I also see one of the midwives , Jenda Stauffer in the office .

We love Dr. Whitcomb. She has been by our side as our daughter has been chronically ill for these last 4 years. Although she's been our pediatrician for 11 years, the true test of a physician is how they handle the hard times, the impossible-to-diagnose patients, the chronicallly ill,the chronic painers. She's not afraid to walk through fire with her patients. I don't have enough good things to say about her. She's the best.

I use to LOVE Dr. Whitcomb, I was a long time patient of 10 plus years and followed her from physicians to Omaha Children but since this last move it has been difficult to get in to her. Her staff doesn't seem focused a on patients and so many HIPPA violations; talking about parents, patient information, charts laying around, front desk people leaving stuff on the counters with patient information. I tried to get in to her for 3weeks and when I would call no appointment available, talk with the phone nurse since I was unable to get an appointment I was told it was a virus. (Let me specify i did not talk with Karen or Michelle as they are always friendly and helpful) I finally was able to get an appointment with her NP (who I was not impressed with) and was told it was a virus, she also back tracked multiple times during the visit unable to keep what she was saying to me straight and ended the appointment with it would be irresponsible of her to give my child a antibiodic and if… the child was still sick in a few days I could call and speak with Whitcomb. Same day I took my child to BT pediatric express, were a full work up was done; my child had a serious infection that according to the dr should have been treated days ago. As much as I love Whitcomb as a person her patient care and staff have taken a turn for the worse, with distractions, bed side manner decreasing and Hippa violations, lack of appointments

Hard time making dr. appointment. Nurse, older woman can't remember name, was telling me to try things for my kid that didn't even apply. No thanks lady I'll wait for the dr to give me the real advice. Dr. W seemed distracted. Wasn't agressive enough with treatment. Would of had better luck going to urgent care. Won't be going back. Also everyone says it takes long time but I don't think she spent more than 5 or 10 mins before running yes running out of the room to the next apointment.

What has happened to Dr. Whitcomb? Her staff is rude and unhelpful, they openly discuss patients that are a "pain" including the name of said patient's mother. Privacy violations at the front desk happen when I can see photo copies of another patient's insurance card right in front of me, the rooms are dirty (for instance, I have stared at the same spot on the wall by the sink since she moved in--all it takes is a magic eraser and elbow grease), I can never get in to see her, even when my son has been seriously ill, her phone nurse Jill seems to actively block the ability to get an appointment, and the front receptionists have zero autonomy to make appointments, they never have our records because,"we're switching over to a new computer system" but they have been switching over since February. It's totally unprofessional when your doctor doesn't have your child's records and forgets everything you have been seeing her for. Dr. Whitcomb will mention that she's going to do a certain… test or have the nurse check something and never follows through. Once she is out the door, she forgets about your child/situation and is on to the next patient. I have had to repeatedly remind her and/or her staff about test results or things she forgot to tell them to do during appointments. I also have to call repeatedly to get test results, as it is darn near impossible to get a real human on the phone. Heck, the receptionists even have voicemail! As in--you call to make an appointment and it goes to voicemail and you have to cross your fingers and toes and pray they call back in a reasonable amount of time--which never happens. More often than naught, I have to keep calling until someone answers because hours have passed and no one has called back. I can't tell you how many times I've left her office thinking, "Well, that was three hours and I have no answers and no help getting them." As much as I like Dr. Whitcomb as a person, I no longer trust her in the care of my sons. I don't know what has happened to her and this new office, but I would steer clear. Things are way too disorganized and chaotic for true care to be given, in my opinion. I'm off to find a new pediatrician.

She was absolutely everything I could want as a doctor for my treasures. She listened, offered tangible solutions within my comfort zone, engaged the children in a teaching, non-condescending manner, was incredibly thorough, just truly fantastic. I am VERY thankful to have been referred to her.

We have been going to Dr. Whitcomb for almost 7 years. The main thing I love about her is that she cares. Genuinely cares. It seems to be so rare nowadays to find a physician that is actively invested in how your health/your child's health turns out. They usually treat the symptoms and move on. Dr. Whitcomb always, always listens to what I have to say and will give me her honest opinion. She never shrugs off my worries or fears about the kids and has been incredibly helpful in navigating the difficult diagnosis our child recently received. She empathizes with our kiddos when they are sick and never rushes through an appointment. The only negative thing I have ever found in all my years going there is the wait time. It is hard sitting in the waiting area-- and then the exam room--for an hour with a sick kid. Let alone more than one sick kid. I am willing to overlook the inconvenience of the wait time because I have never felt short-changed when Dr. Whitcomb actually makes it… into the room. I just view the wait as a side effect of the pressure our health care field puts on physicians to see as many patients as possible and Dr. Whitcomb's attempt to balance care vs. quantity. She's truly the best pediatrician out there and we would be lost without her.
