Dr. Lisa Marie Wochos, MD

My partner sees Dr. Wochos. She is definitely a pill pusher prescribing heavy narcotics and opioids to a recovering alcoholic. My relationship has completely disintegrated as a result. I have watched the vibrant engaged man I loved become a shell incapable of driving, having a conversation or running his business because of her blatant overmedication.

Arrogant! If you question her decision, she will get angry and argumentative! I don’t think that she truly cares about helping people. Don’t waste your time or money with this doctor!

How often do you find a psychiatrist that listens to you and has your best interest in mind? I recently started seeing Dr. Wochos and she immediately struck me as a professional with a sense of care and compassion. You can tell she picked this profession to help people. I initially wanted to go on an antidepressant, but she wanted me to try therapy first so I was puzzled to see others complain about "pushing meds." As someone else said, why would you go to a psychiatrist if you didn't want meds? That's exactly what psychiatrists do lol. Would you go see a surgeon if you weren't planning on having surgery? Get a clue people. She is not always on time, but what doctor runs exactly on time these days. They're overworked and there aren't enough good psychiatrists out there, so that speaks to her patient demand. She's always apologetic if she's running a few minutes late, and I'd rather she give patients the time they need than get rushed out the door just to get to the next appointment.

Seems the folks here tend to complain that she's a pill-pusher, which I did not find to be true at all. I actually appreciate a doctor who aggressively treats a problem (yes, with medication). If you don't need or want medication, then I must wonder why you are seeing a psychiatrist at all, when handing out meds for mental health sort of defines their profession. If you don't want meds, then you might as well just see a therapist that can only chat with you. I'm not sure how a pill-pusher would even operate. Simply say that you don't want a med and you won't get it. It's not as if she can force a pill down your throat. I had to wait 15 long weeks to see her. She commented that that's actually pretty quick compared to how long it has taken for some patients. That's not a negative comment on her, but rather a comment on the sorry state of mental health care where sometimes truly desperate people (who may even be suicidal) are forced to wait many months to see a mental health… professional. She seemed to be friendly enough. She did strike me as rather pushy when it came to her idea that I NEED to get into therapy. I don't want to do therapy as that would be exceedingly difficult, if not impossible, when I have disabling social phobia. After a lifetime of cripiling anxiety, I have given up on the idea that I can be fixed. I would rather just get meds that make my life a bit less miserable. Having a cheery doc pushing me to do what I cannot possibly do is not at all helpful, thus the two stars. She certainly is a raging fan of supplements, telling me of multiple Amazon products that she demands I use. She does indeed like pushing them, and I ordered the trio. If they don't help, I won't buy them again no matter how much she wants to push them.

Dr. Wochos is an extremely arrogant provider. When her care plan is questioned or further clarification on a diagnosis is requested, she becomes aggressive and argumentative. She has sworn several times during our visits and often speaks very unprofessionally. She has tunnel vision when diagnosing and treating, and, as a fellow healthcare provider, I honestly don’t trust her medical judgment. She is very heavy-handed with medications without having appropriate discussions regarding side effects and risks. I do not recommend this provider.

Thank you for letting my ex fiance... get her fix.. where all other doctors failed you fulfilled her need. appreciate you helping to destroy my family.. keep up the good work.. if your an addict and you have a nice sob story this lady will help you no questions asked.

This is the way I would describe Dr Wochos. This wonderful Dr has a beautiful family of her own and she truly does have the ability to feel your pain which describes the word compassion. She is patient and gives you the time needed to convey your thoughts and emotions. She then takes the time to revise a treatment plan. I have been to several other psychiatrists and none of them showed the heartfelt empathy that Dr Lisa Wochos displays toward me every time I see her. You can expect solid, genuine support from this Dr. Something that is a rarity in this field of occupation.

Although Dr. Wochos has a busy schedule and it took a little bit of time to get in to see her, it was totally worth the wait. Her empathy and clinical acumen are unparalleled. She helped me overcome my anxiety and empowered me to make positive change in my life that no one has been able to do before. She challenged me and held me accountable which wasn't easy; however, over time, I finally realized that holding myself accountable for my behavior was the key to making positive change in my life. My partner and I are very thankful.

Dr. Wochos was the first psychiatrist who took the time to listen to my concerns. You could tell right away that she cares about her patients and will go out of her way to listen to them. We need more female psychiatrists like her.
