Dr. Liz Leah Drapete Dancel, MD

I can not say enough bad things about Dancel, and her staff. My daughter was initially seen for evaluation regarding H Pylori diagnoses from her pediatrician and constipation and complications with stomach pain. She completely dismissed the H Pylori diagnoses as "made up". They ordered lab tests, and then forgot to complete one - leaving us with additional waiting time when my daughter was continuing to experience more pain and symptoms. We got wrong "guess diagnoses" of celiac disease, and anxiety, and while my daughter became very sick and we had to visit the emergency room because Dancel was "on vacation" and none of the 6 other providers would take the time to check her in person, or even call back to make sure she was OK. We waited months after expensive X-rays, endoscopy, blood tests, to have to admit my daughter into the hospital because Dancel couldn't be bothered to even see my daughter. She didnt even follow through with Ava's treatment at the hospital. Another Gastro… doctor visited us when she was admitted. The hospital finally did diagnose my daughter with SIBO - Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.(common to get after H Pylori) the symptoms she was experiencing were CLASSIC symptoms of SIBO - and there is a very easy in office breath test to check for this - but Dancel wouldn't even see my daughter IN PERSON and do an exam and listen to her belly... she is uncaring, unprofessional, dismissive, untrained, unqualified, and caused my daughter months of pain and anxiety that will probably last her a life time. I have never had such poor treatment by a staff or doctor, and I plan on taking action on Dancel so that other poor children do not suffer at the hands of her! There is a lot of research by DOCTORS who stay up to date on their GI profession, and I would suggest travelling out of state if you have a child that needs gastroenterology help. Gastro problems in children can cause life long issues in children and need to be followed closely to make sure they have full recovery. What he have here with Dancel is a class "Drill, Bill" situation - shes ready to get as much money out of you and your insurance as possible ignoring solid evidence and blood tests from pediatrician so she can make as much money as possible and then get you OUT OF HER OFFICE and out of her hair. The only thing we found helpful was the easy communication with her through MY Chart - but it was useless because her responses were never completely answering questions you ask, and she had no emotion or sympathy. My 7 year old has suffered beyond belief - and I will not let this go without holding her accountable. Shame on you GHS and Dancel. When we reached out to other pediatricians and doctors everyone agreed "they heard horrible things about Pediatric Gastroenterology". Don't waste your time here! You could be hurting your child permanently!!!
