Dr. Lori Ellen Delgaudio, DO

THIS DR IS A COMPLETE JOKE, IF YOU HAVE ANY TYPE OF MEDICAL ISSUE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER DR BECAUSE SHE EITHER JUST DOES NOT CARE OR SHES A COMPLETE IDIOT. SHES NOT HELPFUL IN ANYWAY, AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Ive been seeing Dr Delgaudio for about 3 years now and I have had nothing but problems since day 1. I first went to see her due to abnormal bleeding and I was told several times that everthing was fine. After months and months of non stop bleeding and attitude from her nurse Kelly and being put on unnecessary meds they finally did some other testing on me, only to have Dr herself call me and say "you have something I'm not sure what it is I'm but going to refer you to an oncologist they will call you in a few days" and that was it, not other explanation. I was finally diagnosed with a fibroid which required surgery (but everything was fine, right?) so that problem was taken care of and for whatever reason I went back to that office for my yearly exam which came back that I had a yeast infection, I have now been dealing with this ongoing "yeast infection" for about 6 months and they keep telling me I'm fine. I decided that I'm done with that office as they do NOT care about you… what so ever, if you don't have any health issues then I guess they would be ok but if you have something wrong do not go to that office because they do not care! I have called Kelly at least 3 times now and she has not called me back. So if you want a dr that can care less about you or your symptoms then she will be the dr for you, otherwise STAY AWAY!!!

I looked up Dr. Delgaudio after an appointment yesterday out of pure curiosity, assuming that I would see rave reviews on her. Women with the same opinion on a OB I happen to think is wonderful. I was SO shocked by negative reviews on Dr. Delgaudio, prompting me to write my own. ON DR. DELGAUDIO: My own Primary Care Physician recommended her to me when I first moved to the area in 2004. My first visit to her in ( late 2004 or early 2005 I think ) I remember telling my then boyfriend ( now husband ) "she is GREAT!" She still is, I have never ever had any problems with her at all. She has always been extremal pleasant, exceptionally helpful and attentive - exactly the kind of bedside manner I want to receive. Listens to any problems I have and will answer any questions I have, even when I carry in a list of them. We talk briefly when I go in for appointments about our families and bits of our lives - we have even joked with each other here and there. I had my daughter in 2009 and Dr.… Delgaudio took great care during my pregnancy and thankfully was the Doctor that was on call the day I delivered. She was great then too as were all the nurses attending me during that delivery. When the new Doctor came on call some hours later she stopped by on her way out just to check on my daughter and I and talked with me about the joys of motherhood. I couldn't possibly have been more pleased at her thoughtfulness. I actually look forward to seeing her as well as her nurse Kelly, who is equally wonderful and easy to get along with. I get the impression that they are close, friends as well as working relationship, though I admit this has not been told to me - my opinion based on observation and conversation. Though everybody has bad days and can take it out on others- to think that Dr. Delgaudio "yelled" at Kelly strikes me as odd. I look at these reviews and can't help wondering if people are mixing Dr. Degaudio and Dr. Baseski up, because I can't stand Dr Baseski. That leads me to the negatives.... ON RECEPTION/OFFICE: Most of the ladies are nice enough. Two of them in the past however were very unprofessional the way they sometimes acted towards patients via phone and in person. Talking rude, rolling eyes, things like that, and not just my opinion but others I have spoken to, including my husband and people in the waiting area. If you are in a field where you are relating to customers, clients, patients, etc... You Should Be Friendly or at least be Great At Faking It - PERIOD. ( I won't name them- since the last couple times I've seen them they were 'more pleasant' and I hope they developed better people skills).I would have given the staff higher marks except these two are the ones that are delt with most often. ON NURSES or other HEALTH PROFESSIONALS: I have not had a problem ( especially Kelly )with any of the nurses and , NP, etc... except one (don't know her name- not to be rude in description but older) nurse left much to be desired. She was cold, rude and twice during one wait to be seen by her Doctor ( won't mention his name as I don't think her attitude should reflect on him ) called first for Erica (no one came forward), 5 minutes later called out for Regina ( no one answered- except the receptionist to say that she was asking the wrong name ) and finally calling out my name correctly. I looked past that, mistakes happen, I'm a pretty easy going person normally -no biggie- and tried to be friendly and smiled at her, she gave me a dirty look as if I'd ignored her calls. She didn't improve when I tried to make small talk ( in our few minutes together ) I was ignored or given one word answers along with a huffy and bossy attitude during her instructions ( I got the hint and shut up ). Still I decided not to judge her, maybe it was an off day. The days leading up to my delivery when Dr. Delgaudio was not there one particular, I had to see that same Doctor again and his nurse when I was having some issues, she was exactly the same - but she called the right name at least. DOCTORS: Because it is a multi Doctor practice and their policy is for the Doctor on call at the hospital to be the Doctor delivering that day- unless you have a scheduled C section with your own Doctor. Now while I hated the thought of my own OB Dr. Delgaudio not delivering my baby I do understand the personal end of it for all the Doctors. They do have their own personal lives - families - husbands, wives, children, etc.... and I for one can respect that normalcy for them. Sooo because any of the 5 Doctors ( maybe 6 now ) could be the Doctor on call during your delivery you have to see each of the 5 (6) once. Now I had no problem with any of the Male Doctors I saw. In fact they were all rather nice and I was not concerned with the possibility of them in delivery with me, nor was my husband who went with me to each of the new Doctor visits. One of them either Frye or Zeger ( I get them confused ) if you close your eyes while he talks, you swear ( a friendly) agent Smith from 'Matrix' is taking to you. Now as I stated above I can't help but wonder if Dr Delgaudio and Dr Baseski are getting confused. I see many nice things written about Dr. Baseski yet our ( husbands and mine ) opinion of her is worlds different. Our visit with her was not what I expected, as the others had all been very nice. She came in we smiled at her and she just looked at us - didn't say Hi, I am..., how are you, as a matter of fact she said nothing. She walked to counter and opened a file, looking at it for a few seconds. Wordlessly did her brief exam except to ask if I'd been feeling okay. Then she got the file and went to turn and leave. I said " I'm sorry I just had a few questions for if you don't mind?" She said "Uhhhh!" My husband who is not a people person himself looked at me and raised his eyebrows. I said " you know what, it's fine I'll call

I have been a patient of Dr Delgaudio for over 6 years - currently on baby #2 and she literally walked me thru the process each time - I am not the easiest person to deal with at times and was very demanding during 1st delivery - 2nd still not determined yet -she has been wonderful and patient with me and aware of my needs and concerns!

Sitting in a doctor's office almost 9 months pregnant, waiting for the nurse to call you back is not fun. Dr.Delgaudio's personality is very flat and she rarely asks anything other than "any problems?". She offered no information as to what to expect when contractions started or even any info on what to expect in the delivery room. Doctors in general are so impersonal these days and Dr.Delgaudio is definitely no exception. There are exceptions out there, you just have to look hard to find them.

If there was a way I could not have Dr Delgaudio involved with my healthcare--it would give me true peace of mind.Initial impression-she yelled at the nurse as to why I needed 30 days worth of anti-vomitting medication (as opposed to the 12 pills she gave me for month), and why I couldnt get it from someone else. Ive had severe vomitting problems with both my pregnancies, and 12 pills would maybe get me through 5 days.I gave her some benefit of any doubt in that, maybe she had a bad day, or b/c it was an nurse prenatal appt, she was caught a little off. My next appt was my first dr prenatal that included a pap. I felt so objectified. Dr Delgaudio was having a personal conversation with the nurse helping her the entire time...she did break to say, youre going to feel some pressure, which was ALL she said to me the whole time. There was nothing personable about such a personal procedure. She may do it everyday, but as a dr you dont make your pts feel like theyre objects on an… assembly line.Lastly, after vomitting alot of blood a few days ago, I felt I needed to be on something stronger than Zantac to help my insides heal from all the acid. I called the nurse, who spoke to a dr (delgaudio) and said she was going to call in Nexium. When I picked it up, it was Prilosec. For some strange reason I decided to google nexium vs prilosec and found that prilosec is a category C medication and has been show in animal to cause miscarriages. I should not have to research a decision my dr makes, especially an OB who would know which meds are safe in pregnancy. I am utterly disappointed with this physician. I do respect the other drs in the group which is why I am still going to see the practice. With my luck it will be Dr Delgaudio thats oncall when I go into labor...Ive started to pray that shes on vacation when it happens. Ive heard nothing but 'stay away' warnings from other people as well, including ppl that went to her for nonobstetrical issues. ie gyn cancer. I went to her in the 1st place based on a review on the internet and wanting a female dr. Be careful!!!
