Whoever answered the phone was rude and insisted my insurance was a Medicare plan when it’s a Medicaid plan. I work as an urgent care registrar and work with insurance every day. I think I would know what kind of insurance I have. I am 40, work full time and don’t qualify for disability, so in what world did she think I qualified for Medicare? This could have easily been remedied by her taking 30 seconds looking on Navinet or PA Promise (websites to verify insurance and benefits), or even a simple Google search. I guess my 5 years of working with insurance trumps her 20 years because she didn’t know what she was talking about. I even offered to pull up that info and take a screen shot that proves it was Medicaid, but she was snotty and said it wasn’t necessary. But I guess since I argued with her she cut me off and continued to argue rudely about my insurance. Without verifying anything she said they don’t take it and basically blew me off gave me another number to call for someone… else and hung up while I was in mid sentence. I know people have bad days but that’s no excuse to be rude to someone you don’t even know. I really hope she actually looked later and realizes she was wrong and feels like a jerk. Absolute horrible customer service, I feel like I dodged a bullet by not going to this counselor because if they hire miserable rude people that can’t take 30 seconds of their time to verify information then no thanks. I really don’t need that negativity in my life. An apology would be nice but I guess a I’ll settle for knowing she looks like a jerk because she couldn’t admit she was wrong nor take a minute to help a patient. Unreal.
