Dr. Lorna Odette Bennett, MD

As a father of four, I take my children's health very seriously. I expected responsible and thorough care from Dr. Lorna Bennett, but what I experienced was the opposite. She repeatedly dismissed concerns that any engaged parent would find urgent. Serious events were brushed aside. Reactions to unauthorized treatment were ignored. Obvious signs of illness were missed, and when brought to her attention, I was met with vague reassurances and shifts in blame. One of my children developed ongoing health issues that aligned with a well-known environmental trigger. Though this was initially acknowledged, Dr. Bennett later reversed her position and offered a surface-level approach instead of real action. I raised this and other concerns clearly and respectfully. Her response was to deflect, minimize, and introduce personal opinions that had nothing to do with my child's care. She also failed to properly assess visible symptoms and instead used the visit to focus on unrelated matters in my… personal life. It was an appointment that felt more like a personal critique than a professional evaluation. The overall pattern I witnessed was avoidance of responsibility and lack of depth in medical decision-making. I did not feel my children were being protected. I did not feel heard. And I certainly did not feel that the care given was guided by best practices. I am writing this so that other families can make informed choices. If you are a parent who values a provider who listens carefully, investigates concerns thoroughly, and prioritizes safety—you may want to explore other options.

Terrible experience. Horrible staff. Longest wait times I have ever had (always at least an hour wait). Doesn’t discuss (or just missed) important things going on with my child. Nurse is rude. Office manager is a joke. Don’t go. Find another doctor.

This office has poorly trained staff who lack communication skills, professionalism, and empathy. My children have been patients here for 3+ years and they are quite inconsistent with appointments times and not returning calls. The front desk rep is rude and bends the truth to save her rear end. Apparently there is a new office manager and some changes have been implemented within the practice, but when I called earlier in the day and specifically shared what I was calling for it was never made aware to me that there was a charge. I drove from Orlando to this office only to be hit wit the surprise. Paying isn't the issue, that fact that the information was not shared after asking the rep if there was anything else I would need and told no is where there is a problem. I could have chosen to get what I needed elsewhere and avoid the drive to Clermont. Instead of her taking accountability for being wrong she told the Dr. she felt threatened by me all the while she was the one who caught… a nasty attitude and I kept my composure as I had my kid with me and there was a parent with a child in the waiting area. Lilly who is usually nice, well mannered and helpful was also rude. If a change in management is the result of rude staff then Dr. Bennett should consider going back to the drawing board as poor customer service and lack of communication is not only distasteful..... but bad business practice. I pray that she finds her dream team sooner than later, because a medical practice will have it's down days but the main goal should be to service patients & families in a welcoming and professional manner. Care and empathy is essential when running a practice and keep in mind it isn't always what your staff says but how they say it. Peace & blessings.

I went to her for years until my insurance made me change doctors.. She is amazing, so caring, so informative, and definitely makes going to the doctors not a scary experience like some other doctors do.. I love her! I would recommend her to anyone!

My family has been with Dr Bennett for over 7 years and she is by far the best doctor we have had! She listens to me as a mother and my children as the patients, and values our concerns and intuitions. She is very well educated and gives very solid, reliable advice and diagnosis. She takes time with my kids which is important in building trust (i.e.,they always enjoy a quick game of hide and seek as she enters the exam room and she never fails to quickly play along, by doing this they have learned that she is interested and cares about them). I live in Belleview and have happily driven to Tavares and I look forward to driving to Clermont to continue with her as part of our 'family'!

Dr. Bennett has been my son's pediatrician for seven months and she is absolutely the best Dr I have ever come into contact with. Dr. Bennett is kind, courteous, and very patient. She answers every single question I have and is amazingly fast with diagnosis if he has a sickness. Its more than obvious to me that she is very intelligent, but speaks to me in a way I can understand without making me feel stupid.My son adores her. She is so sweet to him and he always is happy to see her. I realize he is just a baby, but it makes me happy that she is positively affecting him. Overall Dr. Bennett is very thorough and professional. She came recommended to me by a friend and I will recommend her to anyone searching for a pediatrician in the Mt. Dora, Eustis, Leesburg area of Lake County, FL. LOVE my pediatrician!

Our family loves Dr. Bennett. She spends quality time during each visit...which can sometimes mean a wait time! She and the nurses and staff are wonderful!
