Dr. Lorraine Shirley Lemons, DO

I would give zero stars if possible. Dr Lemons is arrogant, condescending, and inept! I would absolutely not recommend her to anyone. I called her during a health crisis for my daughter, which was in part due to her negligence, and she was down right cruel. Please don’t trust your child’s care to this physician.

Yes, a very arrogant doctor, who indeed dismisses parent's concerns. Missed 2 serious issues with both of my children, RUN as fast as you can away from her !!!

Dr. Lemons has always been courteous and professional during visits with my daughter. My daughter loves her. She presents different options for treatment when available and helps us to make decisions. I find the other comments left hard to believe.

Dr. did not read patient record and did not respond positively regarding recommendations of previous physcian about what procedures and drugs to use for my child. Some had been tried before and not worked, etc. She presented as aggravated when I tried to offer useful information. Apts. were difficult to get, even with a sick child. Impression was that she could care less and her recommendations were often questionable. I have left her practice very disatisfied.

Hands down the most arrogant ,condescending doctor I have ever dealt with. Wouldn't give me time to talk -it was her way or nothing, didn't address my concerns and gave a half hearted exam-obviously she knew more, than myself, the mom. Seriously considering finding new doctors, even though we adore Dr Morin, who is the polar opposite of her and our regular pediatrician.

My two youngest children went to Dr. Lemons from the beginning of her career until their adulthood. She was always courteous, caring and accurate with her diagnosis but her caring and follow-up were her strong point. My daughter was very ill and spent many weeks in the hospital at that time her primary physician had to be changed to the physician treating her ailment. Lorraine came up to the hospital several times just to check on her/us as a friend. My children now use her for their children.

I've been seeing Dr. Lemons for two years and am now moving to a new doctor. While she's pretty good (which is why we've stuck with her)her staff is AWFUL and she doesn't seem to have any ability or interest in making them better. We can't handle it anymore. Here's the list of things we've had to deal with1) Given the wrong vaccine (we stagger them).2) Would have been given the wrong vaccine in the next visit if I hadn't asked what was being given.3) Spoke to the Office Manager about these mistakes who brushed me off with 'it only happened again b/c of the records from the first mistake so it's not really a problem'. Really, not correcting your first mistake isn't a problem?4) Asked the front office if they could give me an appt in the afternoon b/c otherwise I end up having to take off a whole day from work - was told by the oh so polite woman at the the desk that the new policy was that they don't have any well visits in the afternoon and 'these are just the things one has to do… when one has kids'. Checked with Dr. Lemons about this new policy, got a lukewarm 'oh that's not true. sorry.'5)And on a simple blood draw to check hemoglobin levels. Nurse pulls the vial out completely, blood all over my kid and husband, and she leaves the needle in him while he's screaming and freaking out at the sight of blood. I was sticking around b/c of the dr. but if the office staff can't work with working moms and do basic medical stuff, it's not worth it.

Dr. Lemons is fine for day to day issues. Her office staff is great. If you have a healthy child with no special needs who is fortunate enough not to develop any significant problems, she should be OK. However, having gone through a major health crisis with her (and other pediatricians), based on our particular case it is my opinion that she lacks the judgment to accurately assess severe situations. Also, she displayed arrogance toward both parental concerns and the opinions of other health care providers, all of which ultimately proved correct. Fortunately, we sought a second opinion, although it would have served our child better to have done it earlier.
