Dr. Lorraine A Walker, MD

Dr,Lorrain Walker can have a attitude or be rude at times. I recently had a C-section back in January everything has been fine untill recently I hurt myself and I’m afraid I pulled something by my incision . I asked her if I can extend my Disbility claim untill she gets back my results for a ultrasound to make sure everything is ok for me to start work since my job requires heavy lifting but her and her staff denied it and said I look fine and told me everything was ok clearly I’m not ok if I am in pain and went to the ER I wouldn’t go for no Reason and waste my time sitting there for 5 hrs.

Dr Walker was my OB/GYNE while I was stationed at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in California. She was FABULOUS!

I went in for my visit and she told me that she couldnt find my babies heart and that i been losing alot wait and besides she had me waiting for more then in hour in the exam room and she was going to send me to an stat ultrasound and she comes back saying to wait for a call tomorrow to schedule an ultrasound and that if i wemt to an e.r. they wouldnt be able to check if my baby had a heart beat well guess what i went to an e.r. and my baby has a heart beat and is fine. And i havent lost weight at all i been gaining .

Dr. Walker was rude, short, and rough on my lady parts. I have never had such a terrible experience at the gyno. She was so rough i bled for lightly for two days after the pap smear. Stay away. This was the worst experience i have ever had with a doctor.

I went to this office for prenatal checkups and even though everything was perfectly normal I was always made to feel like I was doing something wrong. They kept telling me not to gain so much weight (I never gained an abnormal amount) but weren't interested in my actual nutrition, which is excellent. The front staff were inept, slow and generally ineffective. I transferred to another office late in pregnancy because of their poor treatment.

At first i was unsure on how a down there doctor would be but dr. Walker and her staff made me feel welcome and very comfortable. I love this office and the staff!

I found Dr. Walker to be short, condescending, and even bipolar. On some occasions she would act like my pregnancy issues were just normal and I shouldn't be "bothering her" and other times she would act like I should have said something way earlier. It was a no-win situation. I saw her throughout my pregnancy and delivery and found her bedside manner to be as far from maternal and caring as possible. I specifically chose a woman doctor thinking she would be more caring, but that could not have been further from true with her.

The receptionist was not so good, kind of rude. But Dr. Walker and her assistant were very friendly, helpful and professional, answering all questions I asked. I would definitely go back for my checks.

To keep a long story short Chloe is Dr Walker's office staff member. I had a change of insurance and at my visit I cam eraly and gave her my NEW insurance card which has my name and the group it's with right on the front. Went here twice in two months they decide to tell me after those visits that they don't accept my insurance and I get a bill for $310!! When I tried talking to Dr Walker herself she was INCREDIBLY rude and was immitating my tone of voice and talking over me. She basically told me because Miss Chloe didn't for some ODD REASON take a copy of my insruance card that she can't prove I actually gave it to them!! Yet they have the ID number from it interesting. This has been a huge issue for me. Save yourself from having to deal with something like this. If you do go take it upon yourself to ask Chloe if they accept your insruance she wont tell you if you dont! Also make sure she actually COPIES your card because this will happen they will be shady. It's unfortunate that… anyone would even have to do that. Isn't the office supposed to take care of their patients??? and be honest??? Also I went in for a urine test she "didn't know why my test was coming out how it was" and then decided to tell me "but, it's not DEATH DEFYING YET" oh thanks!!

I am currently a patient of Dr Walker's and from my first visit she rubbed me the wrong way. I felt very patronized by her and very much felt like a child in a parent/child relationship. I actually have a medical background (that she has no idea about), and know what and how I think about what I want my birth experience to be, and I feel like I get 'shushed' whenever I have a different opinion to hers (i.e. I DO NOT want a vacuum extraction or episiotomy - both things that she dismissed immediately). I am concerned that she will end up delivering my baby via c-section as she is VERY medically/clinically minded (which may be perfect for other patients). I had wanted to deliver with a mid-wife in a birthing center, but my insurance didn't cover it. It's too late in my pregnancy to change doctors now, otherwise I would have. Oh, she also only delivers at Hoag Newport, despite what your insurance plan or any website might say, which we weren't aware of immediately either. One other… thing we've had an issue with is, her office wanting us to pay what they've calculated we'll owe after delivery before the baby has arrived, instead of billing insurance for everything and then them billing us what remains afterwards. This has really pi$$ed us off as we're being asked to pay for a service not yet rendered. After a LOOONG discussion with book-keeper, we are doing what we've always done, and having them bill insurance for everything, now we've paid our co-pay...felt like they are a bit desperate for money - their billing/pay cycles are not our responsibility... I never see other patients there either which makes me a bit curious...never have to wait though!There's nothing I can concretely put my finger on with Dr Walker, but I am glad my husband is a strong guy who I know will be an excellent advocate for me when it comes time to deliver. The thing I've been most bothered by though is her assumption I know nothing and she is the expert and therefore doesn't listen to my preferences. She will follow the medical model to the letter (i.e. pitocin if not progressing fast enough, rupturing membranes, c-section if more than 12 hours have passed with ruptured membranes etc etc). Like I said, that is exactly what other patients might be looking for though...just not us, if I need more time, I want more time...
