I am an adult patient for Dr. Blumenfeld's and I highly recommend him. He is knowledgeable, kind, thorough, and listens well. My double vision was corrected after surgery with Dr. Blumenfeld. My surgery and recovery went extremely well. We live over an hour away from his office, but it is worth the drive! I am very grateful to God for Dr. Blumenfeld and his staff.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Blumenfeld since she was just a few months old. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable and friendly. He just performed bilateral eye muscle surgery on my 2 years old and it went very well. He even called us himself the very next day (Saturday) to inquire about her post surgery condition. He's extremely patient and answered all of our questions. Everyone at his office is friendly as well.

Dr. Blumenfeld went over and above my expectations for a doctor. We came to see him because my son had a black eye that had not gone away in three weeks. He took our case very seriously and got us immediate help and answers. He took a biopsy of the eye on a holiday because of the urgency. He helped us learn that my son had LCH and may have saved his life. Because of the quick action we were able to start treatments right away. We are so grateful to him.

Following a TBI Dr Blumenfeld corrected my double vision for which I am eternally grateful! With a friendly, caring staff and exceptional doctor, I would recommend this practice to anyone I know!

At 3 ½ years old, we began to notice that my sonâ??s eyes were crossing. I was pregnant at the time and -- being all hormonal -- I FREAKED out. So my husband called a couple of trusted doctors and everyone suggested the same Pediatric Ophthalmologist: Louis Blumenfeld. I went into the appointment preparing for the worst outcome (surgery, permanent vision damage, etc). I was super nervous while in the waiting room because I saw SO MANY other children with obviously severe vision problems. This made me even more jittery. Then we met Dr. Blumenfeld and my concerns just dissipated. I was so pleased with his jovial disposition despite all the serious cases he had before him. He wore a child-friendly tie, was approachable, asked lots of questions (and listened to our answers!), and most of all, was patient and gentle with my son. My son, who was later diagnosed by another doctor with Autism Spectrum Disorder, is incredibly sensitive to physical touch and bright lights. He cannot… STAND to have anyone put things anywhere near his eyes, not to mention actually put drops INTO his eyes and then shine a bright light into them! But Dr. Blumenfeld pulled it all off with minimal struggle from my toddler. Bravo, Dr. Lou! Finally after spending a solid amount of time with my son and conducting several tests, Dr. Blumenfeld diagnosed him with "accommodative esotropia". All he needed was corrective lenses! We continued to see Dr. Lou for 6 years until our recent move out of state. And Dr. Louâ??s original diagnosis was spot-on. My son never needed anything more than the corrective lenses and an exam once every 9 months. And even though Dr. Blumenfeld moved from his old building into a fancy new office with a super-spacious, modern and entertaining reception area, Dr. Lou hasnâ??t lost a bit of his gregariousness, gentleness or most important, his humility. He still wears his cute cartoonish, child-friendly neckties; has toys in both the waiting room AND in the exam room (my pediatrician doesnâ??t even do that!); allows siblings to sit in the exam room (if they can play semi-quietly with the toys); shows â??Gâ?? movies in each exam room (Dr. Lou knows more about the movies than your child will); and still has his silly remote-control stuffed pigs strategically placed in the exam rooms that â??oinkâ?? and wiggle their curly tails to test the childâ??s vision. His staff is super-accommodating about school schedules, sports practices and music lessons and will work with you about appointment setting. And Dr. Lou spends even more time with each of his patients now that his practice has grown and moved to a bigger building. In all 6 years as his doctor, Dr. Lou always remembered the personal, non-medical, details about my son. We will miss you!

My special needs daughter sees a multitude of specialists. Dr. Blumenfeld was the rudest, most arrogant Dr we have ever dealt with. I will never expose her nor anyone else to this pompous man, nor his uncompassionate staff ever again.

My 11 month old had to have eye surgery to correct his strabismus. I was anxious about the surgery, but Dr. Blumenfeld put me at ease with his compassion and expertise. This doctor is very thorough and explains every detail, he even used an eye model to explain the procedure. We are so impressed and pleased with the results. My son's once crossed eyes are now straight! We couldn't ask for a better experience. Simply awesome.
