Dr. Louis Herve Thelusmond, MD

We have been Dr. T's patients for many years. He is always very caring; explains thoroughly and honestly with us. Takes action as needed. He is a rare breed among Dr's to take the time. He has been there when we have been in crisis and takes control, finds out the problem and explains the solution. Thanks to Dr T, we stay healthy.

His office is dirty, no wheelchairs. His staff ruined some of the stress test. The lost the results for a bit on an immediate surgery. Then he had issues transmitting what he had to MUSC in Charleston. During my heart angiogram he pierced my artery, a very dangerous. Pseudo Anarism. He was not aware blood was all over the place. Good thing MUSC redid his tests because they found it. Could have bleed out.

Dr. Thelusmond explains everything to you. And very honest and efficient

A few months ago my mother required an appointment with a cardiologist. After asking around for recommendations we chose Doctor Thelusmond. Making an appointment was fast and easily fit into our hectic schedules without waiting weeks or months like some other doctors. We spoke to him about her history and symptoms and he asked many appropriate questions. He determined she needed a nuclear stress test and explained why this was necessary and, what information it would give him and exactly what was involved and what she could expect. They scheduled the procedure for the following week. It was exactly as he explained. After he explained the results and what I would need to do going forward. He further explained what medications I needed, what they each would do and any side effect I should be aware of. When I called the office a day or two later with more questions, he called back later that day and answered everything thoroughly. It is rare to see this kind of time and attention spent on… a patient as many doctors seem to be under great pressure to rush through appointments and get on to the next patient or worse yet keeping their nose buried in the laptop during the entire appointment and you are left wondering if they heard anything at all. I was very impressed with Doctor Thelusmond and Anne who made our appointments and relayed message, took care of our insurance and billing. We will be keeping him as our cardiologist and will happily recommend him to anyone who asks.

V caring and knowledgeable Would recommend too all in need of cardiologist

- Overcharged for services. - Charged for Remote Evaluations that did not occur; i.e., we were charged for "Remote evaluations of single, dual, or multiple lead pacemaker with physician analysis, review." I DO NOT HAVE A PACEMAKER. - Charged $205 for "Remote evaluations of defibrillator with analysis and review." While I had a defibrillator vest, NO DATA was sent for him to review, as there were no instances that occurred. MEDICARE DENIED THE CLAIM. - Dr. T told us my echo cardiogram showed that I needed a pacemaker. Upon reviewing the test results online, discovered that Dr. T reported and concluded an ejection fraction rate of 33. We were told by Dr. T that any rate below a 35 requires a pacemaker. The actual echo cardiogram report taken in Dr. T's office showed an ejection fraction rate of 43 -- a 10 point difference. A second echo with a different cardiologist CONFIRMED the original findings of the Actual Test Results (this re-test actually showed a… 45 ejection fraction rate) and verified that NO pacemaker was needed. My experience left me with feelings of mistrust. His desires for me would have included additional surgery, a pacemaker, and more financial burden. None of which were not necessary when we sought a second opinion.

DR THELUSMOND DID A GREAT JOB IN MILOT, HAITI WHERE HE WAS THE ONLY CARDIOLOGIST. HE ALWAYS CARED FOR THE PATIENTS BEING THEM RICH OR POOR, URBAN PERSONS OR PEASANTS. HE EVEN HELPED THE POOREST GET THEIR MEDICINE BUYING THEM WITH HIS OWN MONEY, WHEN THEY WEREN'T AVAILABLE AT THE HOSPITAL.
