Dr. Louise Hom, MD

Dr. Hom was curt to my mother and did a very sloppy, choppy looking incision that my mother is left with. We are happy to get the cancer removed but Dr. Hom need more training for anesthetics. Does she not care how I person would feel about how the incision looks?

Dr. Hom sees a body, not a person.

My godmother got a referral and made an appointment with Dr. Hom 3 weeks ago for a potential biopsy. They took the appointment and have only asked her full name and insurance name. Everything seems to be fine at that time. It was until the day before the appointment, which they called and left a voice message saying that "we moved to a new location. Please call back to confirm the address." The message was very confusing since it makes a little sense for someone to call back just to get the new address. Why wouldn't you leave the new address in the message right of way? The review would've ended here if that was the only blunder they've made. When my godmother called back to the office on the appointment day, she was told to wait just for an address inquiry. And when it's her turn, they checked her insurance and told her the doctor is NO LONGER IN THE NETWORK and ask if she is willing to pay in full for the appointment. It couldn't have been worse. How is it possible for a… doctor's office to take 3 weeks to confirm the patient is covered for your service? And how is it possible for you to not making a single phone call to the patient informing about the situation? It is lucky that my godmother's case is not so urgent (which might be wrong since we still need the result of the biopsy.) The delay on the diagnosis could be lethal and losing prime time of the potential treatment. And it is so irresponsible for a doctor to take referrals and appointment without looking at the patient's insurance. They could've called ahead of time so that we can find another surgeon but they didn't. Terrible doctor's office. I wish I could rate it -5 stars.

Dr Hom was very rude, very inconsiderate...rude to my financee', rude to me...she did not take my scoliosis or fibromyalgia into account...she said me vaping was a precursor to serious addiction. Said the same with caffeine. We were very stressed over the situation we were in. She acted like we were an inconvenience. Afterwards there were no after care instructions, I never met with the doctor. I had an emergency two days after surgery where I needed to go to the ER (chest pain and shortness of breath)...she did not call and check on me (or her staff). She said I had feces in my appendix and that offended her for some reason...the other doctor said I had a fecalith (calcified feces). Not sure who the heck she thinks she is. She's just a doctor, not Jesus...though I'm sure convincing her otherwise is pointless. Out of touch, no empathy, no bed side manner, abandoned patient after surgery. Denied pain, etc etc. All in all she was horrible and if you get an appendectomy, it's… worth the 10 minutes detour to another hospital to avoid this hellish experience.

Dr. Hom is rude and has no intention to help the patient.

I have seen Dr. Hom for several different suspicious masses over a period of perhaps ten years. She is professional and takes the time to answer my questions. Her assistance is friendly and makes sure I know what to expect. Naturally, I wish I didn't have medical issues at all, but I'm satisfied with the care given in this office.

Best doctor for any General Surgery! It doesn't matter about all the other things except for accuracy in diagnosing a problem and taking care of it. I would recommend her to anyone

I was sent to Dr. Hom by my primary doctor for pancreatitis, and gallbladder surgery. Since no one can locate my gallbladder, even after having an ultra sound AND a hiatus scan, this doctor would not do surgery. Instead, she ordered more tests, more scans, and frankly I don't think my insurance is going to keep on with these tests, when the professionals can't even find what they are looking for! Dr. Hom made rude remarks about my doctor, about MY JOB and frankly I wouldn't go back to see her if she was the last surgeon on earth! NO WAY would I allow someone like her, to cut on me. She made it obvious that she thinks very highly of herself. I waited an hour and 20 minutes before she came into the exam room. I have never waited this long for any doctor in my life. The staff acted like they knew nothing of what they were doing. I would never refer anyone to this witch doctor... I mean she is a WITCH!

Dr. Hom has terrible bedside manners as far as I am concern. First of all, after surgery with her, there were severe life threatening complications.She has ignored my symptoms of severe pain even after she did surgery. Being a professional myself I felt she did not treat me as any patient should be treated. I refuse to refer her to anyone.
