Dr. Louise P King, MD

My guy and I thought Dr. King was great. She did run late but I asked right away if she was running late. They were honest, and it wasn’t a big deal. She was very compassionate and understood my questions before I even finished asking it seemed lol She took her time with us and we didnt feel rushed like most new patient appointments. I thought she had a really good bedside manner. I’m really glad we were referred to her.

I have had 1 visit with Dr. King so far. It started off rocky. I had an MRI done at an outside facility. When I had asked my physician's office if I needed to pick up the MRI disc to bring to Dr. King, they stated no, that they already mailed it and received confirmation. When I got in the exam room (which I waited about a month for an appointment) she said she didn't have the MRI and there was nothing she could do without it. I stated that my doctor had mailed it and is there anyway it could be lost in the office? She cut me off very quickly and said there's no way. I asked her to please check with her staff. Big shock, it was there. Once we got into the appointment, I did feel she spent a lot of time talking to me, and explaining my circumstance, and a plan going forward. However, since the radiologists at Beth Israel didn't read the MRI, she wanted to send it to them because my MRI report was a little vague, and she had concerns about what they reported, according to her. … She told me to give them a week and then I can start calling the office to check on the results. I knew as soon as she told me I'd have to start bugging them that I'd never hear back. I waited a 7 full business days before i started calling. It has now been 9. I got a call back today saying she is still waiting on the second read. I left the office with a diagnosis of "you could need to have this cyst removed, or you could have ovarian cancer. We will get back to you." And now I've been waiting a week and a half. I know she is a busy surgeon, but to leave a patient up in the air with a serious diagnosis and no communication is awful. Hoping our relationship can improve if I am going to continue being her patient.

I had an appointment with Dr. King for an endometrial biopsy. She was 1.5 hours late. No apology. I had to remind her to change her gloves when, after touching other things, including checking her phone/pager with them on, she started moving right into the procedure. This obviously offended her. She said she would change them "if I really wanted her to", but the reason she didn't think of it was because "everything on her is sterile". During the biopsy, she was obviously in a hurry, probably to make up time from running so far behind. She didn't even tell me she was starting, which caught me off guard, and she told me to "calm down" and that I was "making her fight against me". I in pain and became upset, to which she said--while she was pinching flesh from the inside of my uterus--that I should really see someone in psyche because I am obviously an anxious person and not able to calm myself down. Afterwards, I had questions about what to expect after the procedure and… when I would get the results. She ignored me, dropped her gloves into the trash can, told me I could call the office with any questions and walked out. Her assistant, Tuesday, answered my questions and told me it would take 1-2 weeks for the results. Dr. King spent a total of less than 10-15 minutes with me, including the time it took to do the biopsy. In her appointment notes online, she lied and claimed she spent a full 45-50 minutes with me. I called in at the seven day mark to see if my results were in. Tuesday told me that my results were good. When the report was posted online, I could see that it was sent back to them 5 days earlier and no-one bothered to call me. I would never go to her again under any circumstances.
