Dr. Louise E Van Riper, MD

She was very rude to me, did not seem to take my concerns seriously, and made me very nervous before my exam. As a result, the entire experience was painful, and I hope nobody else ever has to go through that. She also did not seem to be up to date on current practices.

Dr Van Riper was wonderful! Although most don't look forward to gynocology visits, she made me feel very comfortable and at ease! I would recommend Dr Van Riper to all of my friends and family!

This was NOT a doctors visit, more like interrogation!, I was with her for 10 mins and in that 10 mins, gave me glares and looks as if I was stupid, she laughed at me when I talked and didn't take anything serious, I have plenty of pregnancy symptoms and she said she doubted I was pregnant and that there was no way I could be. But my ovulation days have gone and past and I'm not taking my birth control, but when I said that in her exact words she said "what do you want from me!?" Not very professional if u ask me, this doctors visit left me dumbfounded, what kind of doctor acts like that?....DON'T WASTE TIME SEEING THIS SO CALLED "DOCTOR"!

This doctor dismissed all my symptoms and concerns, as if they weren't real. She did not seem to care at all, and wanted to run expensive, unnecessary tests to determine whether i had diseases that had nothing to do with anything. When I mentioned that other doctors (from another state) said the likely problem- she said she never heard of that before. Even after doing my research, I believe they were right, and can't imagine how she has never heard of things. She did not seem knowledgeable, nor up to date. She was also not professional and did not display proper physician etiquette. Instead of asking to check me, she said "put on the gown so I can examine you," very rudely. Coming from a family of doctors, this is not right. Despite my politeness, she remained rude and stared at me blankly each time I told her my concerns. I said I was not happy with my birth control but she said "these days all birth control are the same." when I said "doesn't it effect every person differently?" she… said no. The standards for medical school must have been a lot lower in her time- she has not kept up with medicine.

When I went to Dr. Van Riper for the first time, she was not caring at all. Instead of being at your level, she talks down to you, and was really only friendly when my husband (who was with me) said he was a doctor. Even after telling her my symptoms, she did not believe there was anything wrong with me. She just didnt seem to care and her quirkiness didn't make me feel comfortable, but maybe thats because she's older and different. Still a doctor should be caring & understanding- instead she was quite rude.
