Dr Naeem and Roxie are the best. I needed help and their efforts and concern were very reassuring and comforting; I then knew that I'd be ok.

Great doctor and great staff! Both heard all of my concerns, dedicated more than an appropriate amount of time to my visit, and assured that i was 100% informed as what my next steps are...gald i found Internal Medicine of Stone Oak, Dr. Naeem.

Dr. Naeem is knowledgeable, but is very clinical. Don't expect a warm conversation. The receptionist is ill-equipped to handle tenuous phone calls. She is short, abrupt and interrupts. I needed refills for two prescriptions to be called into my pharmacy and one of the prescriptions needed the doctor’s approval. I was told I needed to come in and see the doctor. I had just had an appointment two months prior and had another scheduled in one month from the phone call. I explained that I was given a one month prescription and that the previous month they had called in the refill knowing I was coming back in soon. (The exact situation as this) It is a prescription I have been taking for eleven years. The doctor failed to write a three month prescription on my last visit. The receptionist insisted that I needed to come in and if not, the best she could do was write the doctor a note and wait for a response. The prescription requests were put in to their office on Friday. This phone call… took place on Wednesday and my prescriptions ran out on Thursday. I expressed concern that this was not acceptable and asked to speak with the doctor. I was told the doctor did not accept phone calls from patients and the receptionist said she would not be talked to in the manner I was speaking and hung up on me. No resolution, no concern, no empathy... just a wall of resistance. Thirty minutes later, I called back. A nurse answered the phone. I explained my situation, she resolved it without hesitation. I never mentioned the prior conversation with the receptionist. She apologized that the prescription had been written for one month instead of three and recommended I bring it up with the doctor on my next visit. I had a twelve year relationship with my previous doctor. He retired. During those years, I could call anytime for advice and if needed, I could speak with my doctor. I guess I was spoiled. I will be leaving Dr. Naeem, not because of her manner, although it is far from what I am accustomed to, but because she has an office that feels cold and a receptionist who could stand for a little customer service training.

Obviously, there are mixed reviews on Dr. Naeem and I'd like to offer a view that's not as polarized. I *strongly* suspect that what goes on is Lubna mirrors the personality type of those who come see her, and the issue there is that lots of people are very business-like or even scared/nervous when they go to the doctor. Having made it a point to be upbeat and lighten the day of everyone at Lubna's office whenever I go, I've always related well to everyone there and found that the doctor herself was much brighter and personable as a result. She seems like a genuinely sweet, caring lady to me...but I think she has to know you want to see the more social side of her. With the caveat that I am generally well and don't go to her that often, I've found she has a reasonable amount of time for me whenever I do. This was my primary reason for switching to her, as my previous doctor would literally keep his hand on the doorknob of the examining room and become palpably annoyed… whenever I tried to ask a question before he left. So maybe the bar was set pretty low here, but regardless, I don't at all see from Lubna and her staff the social issues that some of the others here have observed. Since Lubna is a one-woman show, the wait times can get out of hand. I proactively took that issue by the horns and they've since been very accommodating. As far as diagnoses, Lubna has been correct more often than any other doctor our family has seen in the last seven years. Others have been *appallingly* errant more often than not. The few times I've gone to a specialist, they corroborated Lubna's initial assessment. Finally...the billing stuff is something we'd all better get used to until things change with health care in this country. Again, take proactive control up front with any HCPs you visit and demand that they tell you up front what they're going to bill you for and how much it'll be.

I have had very good care from Dr Naeem. She has sent me to Dr David Marks for pulmonary issues and he is excellent as well.
