Dr. Lucy M. Schenkman, MD

My OB visit with Dr. Shenkman was frustrating. My experience with other providers at Harris and Smith OB has been good, overall. Dr. Shenkman seemed as though she already had her mind made up about the visit before walking in the room. She didn't really listen to what I was saying and seemed rushed. She was dismissive about my early labor symptoms over the previous week and I felt like I was inconveniencing her with any questions---or actually just by being there. As I later reviewed my chart online, I saw that she added a diagnosis of anxiety for the visit, which I found interesting as I was under the impression that I was supposed to talk about silly things like contractions and what not when I have a routine visit during the 3rd trimester. She seemed competent enough as a provider, but lacked the bed side manner I'd come to expect from H&S.
