I have been a patient of Dr. Wangâ??s for several years and would recommend him to anyone with Multiple Myeloma. Yes, heâ??s stretched thin, like most of the doctors at MD Anderson, and yes MDA can be slow. But heâ??s confident and upbeat about what can be done to treat this difficult condition. And my experience with MDA has been very positive. A friend had a bone marrow aspiration at a hospital elsewhere in Texas and it did not go well. At MDA it is done right, quickly and with local anesthesia. Yes, I was apprehensive, but in twenty minutes I was walking out the door with no pain. During the procedure there was some mild discomfort, but that was it. Except for a couple of blood draws, at MDA I felt like every technician I dealt with had done whatever procedure was next a hundred times â?? that week. I agree as a patient you need to be proactive and make sure tests are scheduled as discussed â?? but thatâ??s been my experience with any big institution. Additionally, I… recommend reminding any doctor and his (or her) staff of important aspects of your medical history or current condition â?? they have too many patients and need your help. Again, despite some long waits, Iâ??ve gotten the best care from Dr. Wang and MDA. And at least now MDAâ??s added a decent wireless internet connection so you can pass the time by working on your laptop or surfing the web, in addition to reading a magazine. Good luck to all.

As noted by other patients, we waited hours before finally seeing doctor. We left with many unanswered questions because it was apparent we were not suppose to ask questions. Bedside manner lacks. Waited in stuffy and hot exam room. No one bothered to come in a state doctor was running late. Understand "bad news is bad news" but this is not having your teeth cleaned. Doctor should be open to listening and answering questions from patient. Actually, should ask what questions patient may have. And be able to budget time better.

First or Second time you see him as new patient he is great except very hard to understand due to accent.Then everytime after initial appointmentsrushed and scattered and spends only 1 to 2 minutes after waiting for hours to see him. Then does not set up treatment as discussed in appt. in a timely manner or even at all until called back to ask why certain things not showing on schedule.Lost all confidence in him as my doctor so moved on.

Dr. Wang has been my primary oncolgist for 4 years. A great guy, very caring, very thorough, extremely bright. One patient responding said Dr. Wang is not caring, I experienced the complete opposite of that. My experience is Dr. Wang is extremely caring, sincere, and upfront. Sometimes bad news is bad news and there is no other way around it than to say the bad news. I'd recommend Dr. Wang and his staff to anyone.
