Dr. Luis D Acosta-Corrales, MD

A friend of mine and I had a good experience with Dr. Acosta. We lament that his office is posted as "permanently closed". We guess that physician's services should go by the demand / supply market, just like in any other service. If patients want to continue a doctor is because the doctor found a remedy to improve the patient's condition. Sometimes it is just a mere suggestion, the right medication, or the right lab that was negative. If patients do not see the doctor of their choice, they are missing the treatment that is better for them, and they may lose faith in all of those related to the medical profession.

I did not have a bad experience with this doctor; on the contrary things were going more smoothly than I had anticipated. But all of us have a bad day once in a while. I would give him more than five stars.

Dr. Acosta me examinó con los resultados de la punción del líquido encefaloraquideo. Determinó muy acertadamente meningitis viral. Excelente como Doctor y ser humano.

This doctor was able o see exactly what was causing my headaches. I have been to therapists and neurologist who told me I was things, prescribed drug medications that just made me sick. Dr Acosta asked questions to find out what was going on is very knowledgeable and I am so grateful for his patience and expertise.

I am a nurse of 13 years. My father has parkinsons and was misdiagnosed early in his disease. He suffered unnecessarily. Dr Luis Acosta changed his life. He gave him the most thorough clinical assessment, changed his entire medication regiment, and has followed him for 8years. Every visit is just as thorough and effective. He truly cares for his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Acosta.

Dr. Acosta is rude. He does not like patients ask questions, he does not like that patient wants to be educated about his own disease. He criticized you as patient and also the patient that just left his office.

I went from being cared for by one of the top neurologists in the country ( 16 years in a row and counting) to one of the worst in one move across country. When I explained that my previous neurologist had found the correct balance of medication, that I had been on for 8 years, he refused to refill the prescriptions and said I was misdiagnosed. He was quite rude, wouldn't let me ask questions and exhibited a lack of current scientific knowledge in the field. I cried when I left his office. Thank goodness I have a wonderful Internist who will take over my care and refer me to a better Neurologist if the need arises. He had a horrible bedside manner and I would never return to him under any circumstances. I have NEVER written a review on a doctor, but I felt this needed to be said.

Outstanding patient relations and insight. His knowledge of the issues at hand was unsurpassed. Took time and was caring and kind, genuinely interested in issues I am dealing with. Came up with practical and realsitic solutions

Dr. Acosta believes he is above reproach. He missed my MS diagnosis. Prescribed medication for my petite mal seizures that made me very sick. Told me to keep taking the medicine, "give it another week". I called every Friday to report how sick I was. 2 weeks later, I call office to report I am getting worse. Doctor is out of the country, I was told to call my PCP. My PCP told me to stop taking the medicine immediately. Within in 24 hours I was better. Called Dr. Acosta office to report what happened. When doctor got back, he refused to see me and told me to find a different doctor. I do not recommend this doctor. He should stop practicing medicine.
