He is very smart and even though the language he uses and the explanations completely go over my head, He really is looking out for my best interests. I guess for someone who just doesn't know the language and trusts his doctor, I would just say the shortest simplest explanation is easier to understand. Brought in for a condition that exasperated my scoliosis pain and nerve damage. As well having had 2 colon resections yet there was no discussion, straight to the door and out. Not a good experience.

I was Dr Fernandez's patient at Summit hospital. He was very involved in my case, had a very caring bedside manner, and took the time to explain everything that was being done to help me (he even showed me graphs depicting my daily improvement!). He gets my highest rating and recommendation.

Dr. Fernandez is one of the hospitalists at Summit Medical Center. He LOVES tests. That's fine, but he doesn't listen to his patients.My husband has had hundreds of kidney stones. Sometimes they land him in the hospital. On one such occasion he had Dr. Fernandez. The doctor didn't believe it was a kidney stone and did a lot of testing to prove his point. When my husband finally passed the stone and showed it to Fernandez he said: "That didn't come from your kidney." Now my husband is in the hospital stuck with this stupid doctor again. In the ER they did a CAT scan and found that he had pancreatitis. The admitting doctor set him up on a pain med regiment that finally helped. Dr. Fernandez decided to change it so he discontinued all his pain meds and ordered more blood work and an ultrasound of my husbands gall bladder. Then he LEFT!! My husband was in excruciating pain. The nurse called and got him something but there was a period of time when my husband was in pain when he… didn't have to be.I can't stand this so called Dr. I think he's on some kind of power trip. I'll do anything I can to prevent our family ever having to deal with him again.
