Dr. Luis Nieves is an ACGME fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional pain management, sports medicine and family medicine physician. Dr. Nieves obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He trained for two years in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before returning to North Texas to complete his family medicine residency at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth. Following this, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at JPS Health Network. He then was one of a select few trained in interventional pain management at an innovative JPS Health Network and UT Southwestern Medical Center combined fellowship program. Dr. Nieves successfully blends the compassion and holistic approach of a family medicine doctor with the restorative knowledge of a sports medicine doctor and the skilled hands and innovative therapies of a pain management physician. I felt he was empathetic and listened to me. Willing to find solutions. Far better experience than I’ve had in a while with other doctors. I felt cared about and left in a good mood.

I've been coming here for over 6 years and I would not be walking today had I not put my trust in Dr. Nieves and followed his instructions. We have tested every method of improvement however my Disease has no cures. His ability to provide pain relief by Injections, Stimulator and Medications has me still walking where my chances of being in a wheelchair by now have not happened. Thank you Dr. Nieves and Staff for the years given to me so far in walking.
